They are "pinking shears", and the zig-zag edge they produce is called "pinked".

Dunno why.

On older (fabric covered) aircraft where the fabric was stitched to the structure, the rows of stitches were covered with pinked tape.

If you want to be correct use a narrow strip of covering pinked on both edges. You do neet to figure out how wide the pinked tape was on the 1:1.
