Default Himaxx 2015-4100 vs Razor 350 on 3DX

Just wanted to let everyone know how these motors compare. I have had both on the same exact 3DX airframe, same speed control and battery. The Himax is certainly adequate.....hoovers about half throttle, plenty of oomph for pull out. However, the Razor was noticably stronger. I'd guess at least 15% more thrust. Unfortuneately I didn't tach the Razor motor before the front bearing gave out on me. Either way, these small aircraft are surely a BLAST to fly!

The razor 350 is lighter (1/2 oz) and more powerful but it more expensive and its never in stock. In reality the Razor falls between the Himax 2015-4100 and 2015-5400 in power.

I've been told that the 2015-5400 would draw more current that the lithium pack could support.
I now have more flights on my Himax than I did on the razor...it's a very strong motor (my setup is 11 volt lithiums.)

My 3dx came out around 13 ounces with gear. I have the Himax 2015-4100, etec 11.1v1200 lipo's, d gears, CC25 esc. 20+ minutes in the air with no problems. 1/2 throttle or less hovers. I love the amount of power there is left over to pull out of a hover. It's a great setup. I don't know if this plane has the need for more. The Razor definitely has a little bit of a power edge. But for the price, Himax all the way. Maybe after a few crashes and a little more epoxy it could use the Razor, lol.
Why wouldn't the lithium pack support the 5400 ptebbe? Or is it the ESC that can't? I don't see any reason that it wouldn't work. On the 3dfoamy.com website under motors it says it will draw 1 amp less on a 2sp1 lipo than a 4100 will draw on a 3sp1 lipo (with a lot less thrust. I imagine a 3sp1 would work wouldn't it?
