Mounting HC3510 on E-Flite Mini Edge 3D
Has anyone mounted a Himax HC3510 outrunner (or similar) on an E-Flite Mini Edge 3D? The motor has a firewall ring mount with aluminum standoffs to the X mount at the front of the motor. When I line up the prop shaft, the rear ring mount overhangs the top of the motor mount box. I assume the existing mount box is actually just meant to support the motor mount stick for an inrunner/gearbox combo. Any suggestions for modifying the mount box for the outrunner ring mount?

I'm building an eflite mini edge right now, and I asked the very same question about my outrunner. Someone pointed me along to this, so I'm glad to spread the karma:

That works for the E-Flite outrunners, which have mounting bolt holes on the rear (firewall mount). However, the Himax outrunners have mounting holes on the front (nose mount). The rear mounting ring won't fit on the E-Flite stick adapter. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
