Default hobby-estore genius (not a fliton)

Hi all, Just thought I would give an update on the cheap hobby-estore genius I got. Shipped to my door it was $72.00. Some people have confused this with the Fliton Prodigy. But you can tell its not, because it is half the price and has no manual.

Mods:

1) Mounted the servos in the fusalage, and used CF .060 push rods (no tail heavy problems)
2) Replaced the CF rods in the wings with 1/8" CF tubes (much stronger)
3) Added a tail wheel.
4) Built a balsa frame for the hatch and put in a magnetic latch.

Specs:

AUW: 20.4 oz
Motor: Hacker A20-20L
Battery: TP 1320 3S
Prop: APC 11 X 3.8
Pulls about 15amps static thrust of 35oz

Flight:

I keep moving the battery farther and farther back, and each time I like it more. It knife edges very well with little or no mixing. It will lock into a hover and harrier very well as well. Flies very smooth for a 20oz plane. The only issue I think I have is that at high speeds you can hear the cowl vibrating. (I think I need to knock a hole in the back of the cowl to let the air escape)

Glad you like yours. I ordered the Desert 3D which I'm curently building right now. Looks like it will fly really nice. No Manual though...

Glad to hear that you enjoy the plane! Can you share your (approximate) control-throws and C.G. location?
