Just to reiterate, Hot melt glue does not hold the servos in well. Use foam safe CA to glue the servos in. I have had to re-glue all 4 servos now due to hot melt glue failures. This little foamy does not handle well when a servo is trying to bail on you.

Snow, snow, snow. That's all we get any more. Sure puts a damper on outdoor flying. Maybe i'll look into some ski landing gear

I got one for Christmas, it's my first flat foamie/lipo/brushless ever and I have been flying for several years. I fly mine with a Rimfire 1000 and a 640 mha battery and Futaba 3110 servos. I had an old Hitec 555 but it fried on me after the 1st flight, I threw in one of those big ole Futaba 7 ch until my new one comes in.

All I can say is AWSOME! I had no idea they were this easy to hover, and torque roll...Will practacly do it by itself. And if you get in trouble just chop the power and lay it gently on the ground. I'm not near the flyer as Greg in the video but I can usually hang one up and keep it there. I'm still kicking myself for not doing this sooner, it's a freekin' hoot!

Any feedback on the variable pitch setup? I've got one installed with the 370 motor. I use a flap/gear mix on my JR radio so I can reverse the thrust instantly with the gear switch.

I try to avoid overamping with excessive pitch. Since I have no instruments to monitor the amps I increase the pitch gradually and check the battery and motor temperature.

The JR sport receiver is very sensible to cold temperature. Servos won't respond if the receiver is exposed to temperatures below 5 degrees Celcius! So Outside flying is not an option for me.

Greg Covey,

That's some fancy flying...are you using a Y- harness on your alierons or are you mixing them with elevator coupling?

I purchased my 260 about a month ago and have had a total blast with it. Now the big question, I have 4" of snow out side so what are some creative landing techniques, I don't think I want to get things wet by landing in the snow?

What kind of speed control is everyone using? I have an Electrifly SS-12 and it keeps cutting off on me. I wonder if the one that E-flight reccamends is better.

green river - What prop are you using? Too much prop or too heavy of a prop will cause the esc to cut off.

I use a CC Phoenix 10 and it too was cutting off on me until I programmed it to soft cutoff and no brake. Now no more cutting off [8D]

9" prop is too big. I'm using an APC 8x3.8 (recomended in then manual). The GWS props are a hair lighter and can help also.

I love my extra. All the carbon fiber is off it except for the tail struts and the wing. pull-pull rudder, single aileron servo, very light!

After a month or so of not flying this little bird due to snow, I decided to install the landing gear and start flying it again. Still only about 8.3 ounces and now I can land in parking lots and on the runway at the field. Great to be flying the 260 profile again!

Finally... my AR6100 has arrived. I sure wish that I had ordered 3 instead of just 1.

Is it spring yet?

I just got mine also. Finished the plane last night with a Eflite 300, TP 730 Prolite and S-60s around and it came out at 8.1 oz w/o gear. I can't wait to fly it but it is very cold and snowy. I would love to try it indoors if there was a spot here. Oh well, got 2 glow projects to get to now, before spring.
