Bud51,

I just picked up my E-Flite 300s 32e two days ago. So far so good. Wings seem a little short at first glance. I'm still waiting for some servos before continuing the build. So far, I've installed the ailerons on the wings. Not to bad, however, the ailerons don't mate well with the wing. It appears the ailerons are not straight. Now, I'm left with a small gap in the middle of the wing/aileron matting. It's only about an 1/8 inch. But, for the money I'd expect to get a flawless ARF.

I'm about flight ready with mine. Just need to set the throws and balance it. This plane went together surprisingly fast. I sealed the hinge gap on the ailerons with some clear Monokote. As long as the weather is good, the maiden will be this weekend.

I maidened my Extra 300 today. Very smooth and stable flyer. Cross wind didn't affect it much on takeoff and landing. Very little roll coupling in knife edge flight. It feels like a much bigger plane in the air. The Eflite Power 32 provided plenty of power. I took back my Eflite Pro 60 esc when my friend experienced a brown out during his maiden flight with his Extra 300. It almost went in. Evidently the Pro 60 esc can't handle digital servos very well providing only 2.2 amps to power the servos. I went with a Castle Ice 75 esc which provides 5 amps. It performed great.

skorman,

That's awesome to hear sounds like you have it dialed in. Did it need much trim ? Also what brand & size servos did you use ? Held off on the esc I have a few of the Pro 60's in 25e planes. for just a few bucks I agree CC Ice is the Way to go. Was the Ice a plug & play ?

I just took my Pulse 25 on my maidened flight a real floater ! Now I'm going to dig into the Extra. I must say the Extra is one of the better arf's that I have. the fit & finish is awesome.

On the maiden it needed a little up trim and right aileron...just a couple of clicks each. I'm using digital Spektrum mini servos on the recommendation of my LHS and they're performing great with excellent centering. The Ice was indeed plug and play...no programming needed. There is soldering of the plugs though which my hobby shop did for me. Today I moved the cg back a bit and found it to be more responsive and landed much easier and slower. This is my first real electric plane (apart from the foamies) and I'm tickled with it. It's too hot here in Virginia to be messing with glow and gas at the field.

Steve,
Thanks for the input it's a big help ! I made the switch over to eletric a few years ago & it keeps getting better. Even the foame's are WAY better ! Last month I bought the Parkzone Corsair almost to nice to fly.

Well I maidened my 300s last night. All I can say is W O W ! ! I'm running a Turnigy 5040 witha a 14X6 prop, Turnigy 60a Plush controller and 4000mah nano-tech Turnegy battery. I was taking it real easy at first. Then, all of a sudden the motor started squealing like a banshee. The ESC shut down and I was able to dead stick it in for a perfect landing. When I got home I found I had forgotten to set the throttle travel. So, I did that and tried a static test. I still had some squeal at the top end. So, I reset the ESC to middle timing and tried again. This seems to have solved the problem. Has anyone else had a simular experience? Any thought will be appreciated.

I set up my extra 300 32e with hitec hs-81's for the ailerons and recommended jr mn48's for the elevator and rudder. I used a 560 Kv motor and 80 amp esc with a ubec. I am using two 2800 3s lipos in series. I flew it with a 12x10 prop . Wow is it fast. I flew great that on maiden flight. I was so impressed with the stability that I got cocky and tried to land with the wind. Bad move, I got a big gust from behind that nosed it in from 6'. Wow this thing is durable. The cowl and the motor box were the only things damaged. I am trying to rebuild the motor box( or what ever the section forward of the firewall is called). If some one else has there cowl off would they please give me the dimension of it. If possible I would like to have the dimensions from the fire wall to all four outside corners. also the width and height would help. I would love to get this bird back in the air. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you, Josh6575

Just got mine done and I went with the power 46 and the CC ICE 75 on 5cells at 3700mAh. Went with all of the MN 48s they put out 48 oz at 4.8 volts and 52 on at 6.0 and the long heavy servo arms from dubro. Got her CG set and see is ready for first flite. Can you guys tell me what you did for the spinner? I bought the e-flite 2 1/4 spinner and when you put it on there is gap about 1" to 1 1/2" from the cowl. Any help would be great or I am going to return it and just buy a great planes alum back spinner. I have thee Extra 260 from them to and have been flying the sh&% out of it plus I fly a TOC Extra 30% with a 50cc so I think I have the Extra department coverd. Any ideas on the spinner would be great but not that big of a deal because that thing cost 25 bucks and the alum back plastick one is six bucks. Thank you Eric from so cal

Okay guys I first put the power 46 on her WOW!!!! Way to much power you could fly her but it was just to fast And I could not get the E-flite spinner on that motor I see why. So now on to the pwer 32 she flys like a deam. But I still can get that Eflie spinner on the power 32 with out it have a big gap from the cowl and that back of the spinner. So can any body help with photo please. I sure would like to run that or any spinner on her soon. Merry Chritmas And happy new year. Thank you Eric

Hi guys
I have two years old extra 300 from e flite with almost 100 flights in it.
I apsolutely adores this plane. The setup is as folowed
Turnigy g 32 motor, a true copy of e flite g 32, gens ace 60 amps esc, and zippy 4000 4 s batts.
I fly 13x 6.5 prop all the time.
I also have 14x7 spare prop, but on static test the power setup drawed 62 amps and i was afraid that its to mutch for esc.
My setup draws under 60 amps, around 50-55, so im flying with about 700w.
I never mised a power, and completely satisfied with performance.
Reading posts i decided that i will try 14x 7 prop, since i understood that it induced positive reactions.
It might be nice to be a little slower in maneuvers.
Im flying on hitec hs 225 mg servos, and spectrum 6 chanelbreceiver with satelite.
My question is this, i wanted to switch to 6s on my entire fleet.
So my idea was to instal a 500 kv motor instead of 770, so i would get equal rpm on prop.
There is a g32 with 500 kv, but its rated on 4s max.
There is a guy in this tread who flys two 3 s 2800 in line and im asking for his impresions.
Prop, engine, flight time, watts....anything that i can hear.
All sugestions are welcome
