addiction setup

Guys, after seeing this fly or float whatever you call it I think i have to get one as the reviews are great, but I need help with the other items. Can I use a Turnigy 3536-1100 in this thing? It about 310 watts with a 10x6 prop..Also what is a good economical servo choice? HS-55 or HS 65??? I have a package of the cheap blue tower pro, but I`m sure it needs better than that....thx...Jason

The best plane that i own.... period! I've got the turnigy 35-36C 1100 in my plane and what a motor. It's just a little heavier than the motor that PA recommends but you won't even notice the extra weight. As far as servos i recently purchased the hs65hb's for the ailerons and i don't think you can find a better servo, the centering is a thing of beauty i wish i'd gotten them sooner. If your needing an esc for this plane, might i suggest the turnigy 40a sentry. It's got a balance plug that you'll probably want to cut off simply because there's no real need for it, and by cutting it you save some weight. Batteries, i've been using the turnigy 1800mah 30C's and really like them, you could use the 2200mah's as well but it just depends on what you prefer. The best prop i've found is the APC 11/4.7 or 11/5.5 but have been hearing great things about the turnigy cherrywood 12/4. But it goes back to just whatever you find works best for you. If you decide to get an ADDICTION you will certainly not be disappointed.

Yeah, I`m going to get one.. I ended up wrecking a plane today and have 3 HS-55 servos, 1 HS-65, and a park 480 motor..they are all going into that thing...I`ll change to the Turnigy if I don`t like that setup....thx....Jason

Unless you can reverse the shaft on that 480 you won't be able to use it. The motor has to mount directly to the motor box from the inside. Im not sure how long those 55s will last if you plan to use them for anything other than the rudder or elevator. I'd get one more 65hb to go with the one you've got for the aileron surfaces. Trust me im speaking from experience.....

thanks, i ended up just buying their motor and ESC just because I didn`t feel like messing with the shaft or mount and as a combo it was pretty cheap...I`ll take your advice annd just bought 3 more 65s...I`ll use the 55s in something with smaller control surfaces...thx again..Jason

You are welcome, The addiction is a great airplane, very fun to fly and it sounds as though you're putting the right stuff into it. Those 65's will really give good control on your surfaces, Good luck and enjoy the addiction, you will love it.
