Need help with rolling Circles
I've just started doing (trying) rolling circles. The problem is,when I'm half way around the circle,I allways begin to loose altitude. The nose just seems to fall? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks,Ron

RE: Need help with rolling Circles
keep nose up before entering it.. Check you CG logitudinal and latitudinal also. CG's must be right. Use more elev when upright but watch for excessive yaw. granpa mike

RE: Need help with rolling Circles
so do I in the last part of the circle. That is because the you are leaving the backside of the ac. when you practice again, start from the back side , see how it feels. be surprised when you catch on. tough 3D but very rewarding.

RE: Need help with rolling Circles
I'm just getting a completed circle. Most of the time :)<div>The main trick for me was making it a bit more tail heavy. Also, If you lose altitude, you make your elevator movements a fraction earlier or pull a little more on the elevator. I had to reduce aileron throws at first to give me more time to react.</div><div>
</div><div>Agreed, really worth getting it figured out. Looks fantastic when you pull it off.</div><div> </div> |
RE: Need help with rolling Circles
If you are gradually falling after starting your rolls, you are not using enough elevator. To test, roll your plane upside down and get a feel for how much down elevator you need to hold it level. You will need slightly more when rolling. Also, I found it easier to get up to speed on rollers after I had my CG back far enough so the plane did not need any down elevator when inverted. This simplifies things a little because the amount of elevator required should be about the same upright and upside down. Good luck.
