RE: Hell Raiser
Once you fly it you will be hooked!
Thats what happened to me, I flew one the other day and now I just have to get one. It handles so well I forgot I was flying a foamy! Rickc |
RE: Hell Raiser
I'm going to purchase one of these. Anyone care to share/recommend a motor and battery config?
Thanks, -Jeff |
RE: Hell Raiser
Jeff,
Hobby Lobby ha a recommended config on their website for this which includes axi motor, esc and so on. I believe the demo video they have shows it performing quite impressively on this setup. |
RE: Hell Raiser
I watched the video. That's why I want the plane. You think the video was with their recommended setup?
|
RE: Hell Raiser
Hi Jeff,
The Video shows the recommended set-up. I designed it just for the Axi ! You can get the kit direct from me or Hobby-Lobby if you need the whole set-up. I only sell my kits not the motors and stuff! Glad you like it, Mike Glass |
RE: Hell Raiser
I was there when they shot the video and yes it was a our stock setup. I have personally flown the Hell Raiser in the video and it has lots of verticle and it will slow down to a crawl as well. Snaps are very cool as well.

RE: Hell Raiser
Really nice Bipe, although it is four to five ounces AUW heavier than a Shockflyer. Anyone flying it recomends other motor than the Axi 2208/34 , maybe the Axi 2212 , or the 2208 is the right set up.
|
RE: Hell Raiser
Aeroman,
I designed it for the 2208/34 and that is the set-up flown in the videos! Some guys are putting the 2212/34 in because it was what they had around! I think the 2208 has more then enough power, plus you can use smaller cells. Mike Glass |
RE: Hell Raiser
Guys,
I was looking to buy a bipe and stumbled across this beauty . . . I live in the UK - how can I get one? Are there any uk distributors or will one of the shops send over sea's just worried about import tax - they look wicked ! ! ! |
RE: Hell Raiser
I shipped a few Hell Raisers to the UK already.
I am the manufacturer. www.horseflyhobbies.com Its not on my site yet! Mike Glass |
RE: Hell Raiser
I want one very bad, how can I get it? Tried Hobby Lobby and they are out.
|
RE: Hell Raiser
I went to the horseflyhobbies web site , but there is no information on the Hell Rasier.
|
RE: Hell Raiser
We should have our next batch in pretty quick. These things are like AXI motors, if you want one you almost have to back order it.
|
RE: Hell Raiser
JPB111,
The Guy that set-up the my site is too busy to put the HellRaiser on the site! So I am in the process of making a new site! For now guy have been PP me at [email protected] or send a check or MO to the address on the contact page on the site! Mike |
RE: Hell Raiser
Thanks Mike, already placed an order with Hobby Lobby.

RE: Hell Raiser
well, almost finished. It's going together really nice with no surprises. I am just too slow of a builder. You guys will love it. I will be putting two aileron servos (cirrus 4.4) on the ailerons so I can have flaperons. Why ? Because I can :D ! Will use Pico servos on elevator and rudder.
I for example will use a AXI 2212/34 with 12X3.8 APC Slo Fly prop and Phoenix 25 ESC. Battery will be a 3S Predator 880mah and 1100 mah (from Falcon Batteries) and a I-rate 1100 mah pack. Let's see which one I like the best. Like Mike metioned I am using this motor because I already have one. Should be awesome power if it comes in around 11-12 oz. I'll report back with some pictures and flight report. Hang in there. |
RE: Hell Raiser
Well, Ulf, I got one. I had to have something to put these Axis in :D But I'm using the 2212/26 and Irate 1100's. Nothing like a little excess horsepower to soothe the soul.

RE: Hell Raiser
ORIGINAL: ChuckAuger .......Nothing like a little excess horsepower to soothe the soul. the axi 2212/34 and the 2212/26 should pull them around nicely. There is no such thing as too much power when keeping within weight range. :D |
RE: Hell Raiser
I'm building mine right now. hope to fly tonight. I'll post some pics later today. I'm going to run the Axi 2212/26 on TP1300, should be enough. I also have a 2208/34 that I could run but not quite sure which will provide the best performance. A little more weight with extra power or less weight, less power. What do you guys think? Anyone flown theirs with the 2212?

There is no such thing as too much power when keeping within weight range. :D And Skibo777.. I think the 2208 is the recommended power for it, and it appears to have pretty good performance with that. But me and Ulf have 2212's that are just laying around, so we figured to just use them and take our lumps with the added weight ( the 2212 is only .4 oz heavier than the 2208..the larger batteries required will be where most of the added weight will come from). If ours are pigs with 2212's, we have only ourselves to blame. |
RE: Hell Raiser
Well one thing that is working in my favor is that with both motors being axi's it should be fairly easy to switch back and forth between the two. Thankfully the bat. hatch is lbig enough to allow access to everything.
