shockflyer wing problem...need help
Hi,
I'm building an extra 330s and there seems to be a problem. Out of the two CF rods for the wings TE and LE, one is quite bent. I stuck the straight one first on the LE. Then I stuck the bent one on the LE, now my wing has this C shape dihedral. It's possible that the wing supports might straighten it a bit, but the wing tip's will sill be bent. There's no way to replace it since I live in India, so either I could remove the TE and try to do some thing else, or finish the plane and hope it flies ok. Any suggestions? Thanks |

I used this metiod to straighten out my tail! i reckon would work on your wing. I use 4 inch wide clear packing tape and just run a strip of it under the wing from tip to end with the wing in the position you want to retain.the tape holds it straight no problem.

You could glue the bent rod in with the bend facing front to back on the wing instead of up or down. This won't bend the wing up or down.

I like the packing tape idea, probably what I would try. The down side to that is It adds weight and if you remove the tape the paint will come off with it. The Up side is you have a slightly tougher wing.
If your not in a hurry, You can order some foam from places like 3dfoamy.com and cut out another wing to replace the one thats bent. |

finish it, it'll probably fly just fine.
