any 3DFoamy pilots out there?

Just wondering how many out there have one, and which one you have, what do you think about it?

I have the 3DFoamy Cap 232 and its the easiest plane I've ever hovered IMHO. Its a really good plane.

I had the Katana but couldn't really get it to hover. Kinda dissapointing but it was ok.

Also have a 3DFoamy Sukhoi waiting to be built.

I enjoy the mad 3d taco from www.flyingthingz.com. I learned with it and now set throws to max for insane fun.

I have built and flown the edge and it is awesome. I have a video of it flying but it hasn't been posted on the 3dfoamy site yet. I'm currently building one of the ravens. It has a bit longer of a tail moment on it so I expect it to be a torque rolling monster. The edge allready does that well but the vids of the raven on the site make me want to drool all over the keyboard. At the price, I don't think you can go wrong. I like them because on low rates and small winds you can fly and practice the IMAC sequences. Much better than the simulator. I plan on practicing some of the new sequences this week with it.

Try the Monte from Troy Built Models, the cost is right the plane looks great and fly very well. I have had several of the large scale 3d guys ask to try it out. I have E-Flite 400 brushless, 3 cell 1320 lipo and 11 x 3.8 prop.

Here is the F-18 Levi posted free plans for. I have built two one for me and one for my buddy. Both on an E-flite 370 and GWS box. I love it and will be cutting some more.
So far the ONLY guy to post a free plan that was truly FREE! 3D Foamy Rocks!!! and congrats on the Baby!

Hey John, you wouldn't happen to know if you could transfer a movie from a DVD written cd to the harddrive would you? I got my neighbor to use his new DVD recorder and we burned it onto a disc, but now I realize that I don't see a movie file in the disc so I can export it to movie maker to edit it. It plays though, 11 minutes long and 650mb lol. Awesome quality though this time.

Sure you can shorty. edit it to a normal size in WMM. so... are you finally going to get a video up?[>:]

? How though, I dont even see a file when I open the dvd in my computer?

RE: any 3DFoamy pilots out there?

Okay I am looking at it, its a 635MB file and its saved as .VOB, let me play with this for a minute.

JohnVH 11-29-2004 12:26 AM

RE: any 3DFoamy pilots out there?

Maybe you can save it as something else that will work? Dont know, I typically go straight from the camera to WMM and then save it.

ALSO, was wondering if a AXI 2208/34 will be enough power for the 3D Foamy planes? I have it already on my shocky..

I have the AXI 2208/34 on my 3DFoamy Tiburon Bipe on a TP 3s 1320mAh pack. It's got insane power and about a 10-12 minute flight using a lot of power. Definitely enough power and mine is around 13 oz. AUW :-D

Try the FancyFoam.com planes. Much easier/faster to build and they fly great. Plus, my Fancy Foam planes arrived less than 3 days after the order. Top quality kits, great prices, and fast delivery.

HI 3dandpatternflyer,

What plastics did you use for your CAP canopy?

Thanks Air3d44

How would a Himax 2025-5300 on a GWS 400C 'I'(6.1 to 1) gearbox with a TP 2100mah 11.1V do on maybe the Pitts? How would it do on one of the single wing planes?

RE: any 3DFoamy pilots out there?

I will have 2 of the 3DFoamy Extra 300LX's probably within a month. I am having them airbrushed by a buddy of mine in the United Kingdom so I figure with shipping, time it takes Levi to cut it out, it will be around then.

As far as a set-up goes..

I am going to try something different I think, I want to go as light as possible.

I am thinking Razo 350 with one of the very nice Cobri gearboxes

Castle Creations 25

Berg 5 receiver with Azarr (lite antenna) its only 6" long and works great.

Hitec HS 55s 4 of them

And probably TP 1320 3S or maybe Thunderpower 2100 3S.

RE: any 3DFoamy pilots out there?

It takes over a month just to get it from Levi, and I live in the same Country. His web site says 2 weeks, but I've ordered from him twice and neither one got here within a month. Still waiting on the second plane. Seems like false advertising to me. New baby or not, don't advertise something you know isn't true. Can't get him to respond to my emails either.

He was out of town for Thanksgiving and just got back I think two days ago. He is cutting kits all day trying to get caught up though. Its okay, I have a Yak that I can fly while I wait.
