nesail.com has another video also.

FWIW, you can get it for 10% off of 79.99 by pricematching at HL

RE: 3D Quasar Bipe

I was just looking for a plane to get if i ever crash another hell raiser.
Theres not alot of foamy biplanes like the hellraiser that will take the setup i already have

4 HS-55 servos
2208/34 AXI
JETI 8 amp SC
TP 1320
Hitech electron 6 RX

I want a plane that will be around 13 ounces max.

RE: 3D Quasar Bipe

GWR,
Is there a reason why you wouldnt get one?

GWR 03-03-2005 07:22 PM

RE: 3D Quasar Bipe

Kinda pricey. I'd try making my own out of blue fan fold first and if I liked it, I'd make another out of Depron. The two would cost less than $10. for both airframes.

RE: 3D Quasar Bipe

What is a blue fan fold?

GWR 03-04-2005 06:41 AM

RE: 3D Quasar Bipe

It's sold at Lowes. It's a 1/4" thick, blue insulation board.[&:] It comes in a bundle about 3 1/2' square and folded back and forth making like a cube.:) It cost about $30./$35. and there's enough to make at least a dozen or more planes. :DThere are plenty of free plans for using the stuff right here somewhere.[sm=spinnyeyes.gif] D'oh! I might try that someday. Where can you get plans?

RE: 3D Quasar Bipe

There should be a new 3-D foamy bipe out within a month or two. It is my brand new design. So far it is the best that I have ever flown. No pitch or roll coupling...even with up to 70 degrees of throw on the rudder! Knife edge loops in 5 ft., no fuselage twist at all ( if you can twist the fuselage you broke the plane in half, Flys precision manuvers awesome, does hardcore 3D with ease. Im doing things with this plane that I haven't even named yet! Heres some stats.

ECHO 3D
32in. Span
34in long
521 sq.in wing area
9-10oz. all up weight with Tanic 3s 830 pack
AXI 2208/ 34

I will post pics after I compete in the Memphis Extreme Freestyle Championships on Mar. 11&12

RE: 3D Quasar Bipe

Does it have a built up fuse?
and have you flown the Hell Raiser[>:]

Jeff Pfeifer 03-05-2005 03:13 AM

RE: 3D Quasar Bipe

Built up fuselage yes! I have flown the hellraiser and there is no comparison. This thing you have to see to believe! I will post pics of the plane after memphis and give more details on the availability of the plane.

RE: 3D Quasar Bipe

I bought a Quasar on ebay and once I got it and took a look at it, I sold it. It looked like a major PITA to build. Too many pieces and and not enough carbon fiber for the money...

tylerman 03-05-2005 09:39 PM

RE: 3D Quasar Bipe

Well, Not everything is a 3 hour build:eek:I believe that the Quasar uses alot of Kevlar flying wires in place of CF(makes for a really light plane;))
Jeff Phiefer, Cant wait to see it if it flies better than the hellraiser
Around how much money will this plane cost?

tylerman 03-06-2005 10:27 PM

RE: 3D Quasar Bipe

Jeff Phiefer,
What plane will you be flying in this event?

Jeff Pfeifer 03-07-2005 12:29 PM

RE: 3D Quasar Bipe

At the Extreme Indoor Freestyle Championships in Memphis, E-TOC/E-Xgames in Toledo, OH, and the OKC Extreme 3D Challenge in Oklahoma City, OK. I will be flying my own design Echo 3D.

tylerman 03-08-2005 10:54 PM

Wow, Sounds like your quite a pilot[>:]
If its not too much trouble you should try to get a video of this "Echo 3d" flying and post it on this thread;)

Hey Jeff,
Great looking airplane! I am looking forward to flying with you again when you come to OKC. I have a new "secret weapon" that you need to see and fly. Give me a call and I'll tell you about it.

Jim

Shameless plug:

Nevermind, dug one up. Quasar that is. Thanks.
No one here is flying this?

tylerman 03-13-2005 10:59 PM

RE: 3D Quasar Bipe

No, no one is flying this model- i kinda changed my mind about the quasar.
I took a look at one at the local hobby shop and i wasnt very impressed with the quality of it-
It is packaged in plastic open to all the abuse of shipping[:'(] It also looks like it is not very strong-
All of that for 90 Bucks [:-]
I think that i will try to find another palne
