E-flite Yak54 2 ail-servo conversion
Has anybody converted their Yak54 to a dual servo aileron control system? I thought it might be cool to have 2 servo's controlling the ailerons then you could do some flaperon/spoileron mixing....... If you did it could you tell me how it flew and what you thought of it. THANKS!

I haven't used them on a yak, but setup is pretty straightforeward, glue your servos to the wing inline with the control horn, set up with a 5 or 6ch radio system capable of flaperon mixing, and have at it... Should have good aileron torque even at high speeds, and you can do plenty of crazy stuff with flap/spoileron mixes...

It works well with the two servos glued side by side in the 'stock' location (widened),
It is fun to play with the spoilerons and flapperons and stuff. David |

it will work that way, and look better, but you can get better, and more even throws by placing the servos so that the linkages are perpendicular to the hinge line throughout the entire range of motion

RE: E-flite Yak54 2 ail-servo conversion
Thanks guys. I already installed the servos using the side by side method. Seems to work nicely. I was just concerned about the added weight and the adverse effect it might have on performance. I'm using a outrunner motor and a 1200mah lipo. I will give her a run tomorrow and see how it goes! Thanks!
