(cap232 from 3dfoamie.com, the old flat wing one) 2) should i be using high (3d) rates? thanks a lot guys. i really appreciate you taking time off flying to help me/us out. RE: help learn flat spins
Richo:
3 D rates would be better. All the rudder and elevator you can get. Very rearward CG. Mine is set up so there is no trim change between upright and inverted flight. About half throttle, at good altitude, pull up into a stall, then full up el., full left rudder, left ail. After it's in a spin, move ail. over to the right slowly and it will gradually flatten out. If you go to far with the ail. it will snap out in the opposite direction. Most of the time the sweet spot is somewhere around the neutral position. Be aware, some planes cannot be persuaded to do it at all. Others will do it with just rudder and el. I have a Spad 3D that does it with rudder alone, comes down like a parashute:D Hope this helps. |
