choosing the right 3D plane for a beginner

I really want to get into 3D aerobatics but can't seem to get good advice on what is a good plane to start with.
currently I have a mini funtana with a hi-max outrunner 2816-1220 motor turning a apc 10 x 3.8 prop I'm now finding out that
this plane is just not a good starter plane for 3D flight. any advise would be helpful.
