Reflection Servo Selection?
 

I just bought a reflection, and I'm building it now. I've been debating with myself about the radio equipment. While GP recomends Futaba gear, I wasn't real impressed with their sub-micro servo specs. So I looked around, and found the GWS Servo Naro Fast High Power BB. It seems to be alot stronger, and only a bit heavier. I want to use the Futaba servos for rudder and elevator, but since it has 4 alerons, I decided I should be using a torqier servo. I'm using the GP 4 ch micro reciever, because it has better range, and I went ahead and got the rim fire as well. Any suggestions on the servos?

I used HS-55s all around. They work fine...plus that is what I had. You will need to enlarge each servo bay slightly on 2 sides to make them fit. It has been mentioned before, but make sure you get all those aileron linkages free. Even with a strong servo, there is enough flex in the plastic linkages and arms to prevent the ailerons from centering.

Cool, thanks, seems the futabas have a bit more torque than the hitecs. If yours is fine on those, I should be able to get away with the futabas everywhere, and shed a few grams of weight. The torque on that GWS was so much higher. But after inspecting the servo mount, it looks like I'd have ot cut a little too much for it to fit...

I'm using Gws pico servos on the rudder and elevator and a Hitec 55 servo on the ailerons which all work well.

When you're building it, be careful with as you glue the servos in place. CA glue found its way into one of my 3108M servos and glued two of the gears together! I was foolish and tried to force it and broke some teeth off the gears-- NOT SMART. I'm still kicking myself over that one.

Im using the Futaba micro's they work great.
Ive heard some really good things about the new E-flite servos.
Bluebirds are sufficient, but the futaba ones center better, and have more torque.
