yes yes yes i know, there are alot of posts concerning this, but my dad just got the flatana as a gift, and he wants me to help him put it together (because i put together my last and current foamy) is there anything i should do different, to help it??? anything i should look out for?? i want this to be light as possible so what should i use as glue.....i used hot glue on my ultimate all the way around and seemed alot lighter then my dads ultimate (who he bought off of some1) so any input would be great.......thanks!!!!!!

I'd use Odorless CA glue. Medium with the Kicker. That will help the plane stay light. I built a Turmoil and it came in at 8 oz. I kept the landing gear off and some of the reinforcing carbon fiber. Only thing to watch out for is clipping the hinges onto the carbon fiber. I slide mine on and that works a lot better then trying to clip the hinge. Lots of people have broken their hinges so be care when doing that step on the aileron, elevator, and rudder.

Keep the LG off. The Flatouts have the worst landing gear I've ever seen. I use a mix of Lock-tite gel CA and kicker, and hot glue. The Locktite stuff isn't technically foam safe. If you don't use the kicker it will start to dissolve the foam after like ten minutes. I use CA when glueing carbon to foam, and hot glue for glueing foam to foam. The flatouts take awhile to build because of their plastic hinges. I went ahead and built it with the hinges and am glad I did. However, if you want to get it flying ASAP, go ahead and just use tape.

when u go to snap the conrol surfaces onto the plane with the hinges glued in, heat each one of the hinges up with a lighter for a couple of seconds (dont get to close to the hinge or you will burn the foam)and then snap it on and that solves the hinge problem everyones been complainnig about. the reason this works is because the material that the hinges and all off the carbon thingys on the tree is made of is very similer to plastic or it is plastic i dont know exactly but when they are cold they are very very brittle and break easyly but when they are warm they are much much more maliable and they doint break that is about the most important thing u can do to get the flatouts build easyer because it is very annoying to replace the himges once they are in the foam and be extra careful when you snap the control horns onto the carbon tube because they only give you one extra but they give you like 15 extra hinge thingys

do not use hot glue for your first step it is a lot heavier than ca use odorless ca medium with foam safe accelerator, if you want it light as possible do not use their hinging system, use hinge tape, dont put the foam underneth the fuse where it makes it like a triangular shape, use kevlar thread through out the fuse, its some work but if you want it as light as possible then it wil take time, also there are other methosd of hinging out there that are even lighter than tape but id try that for now
