Flatana Setup question
I got a Flatana for Christmas and I'm wondering if this is a good setup. I have hs 55 servos, tp 720 li-po, spektrum 6ch reciever and radio, Rimfire, stock prop, and ss 12 esc. Is this good for hard 3D? I want to be able to do all the 3d stuff and more. Is it good?

RE: Flatana Setup question
That looks great, only thing is the motor and esc are good to 12+ amps but the battery is really not quite up to that. If you prop down a tad and take it easy on the battery it should be a nice super light setup. CG MAY be an issue as I used 900s with a heavy park 370 inrunner and GB and still had the battery velcroed right up against the motor.
I'd suggest trying the new 900 TP prolites... they should be great and 2.2ish ounces. 1320s will be plenty but start adding weight but might make flying in slightly windier weather a little better. I like light though. good luck and have fun. oh, just noticed the stock prop thing - I'd do a little research or wait for reponses on suggestions - I can't comment on that one... |

APC 10-3.8 prop on that rimfire works well.

RE: Flatana Setup question
your battery should be fine i used a tp 480 2 cell in my flattana only for indoors though short runtimes but it was one of many foamies that i was able to test out. you should be fine with that battery

RE: Flatana Setup question
That Rimfire on the stock prop with the Electrifly 640 15C pack will start to cut out at full throttle after about 15 seconds full throttle. Granted, you don't do that often cause the Rimfire has tons of power, but in vertical near out of sight climbs I did notice that. If that pack's rated at 15C you'll be fine, if it's only 10C, you'll have problems. With a 850 10C pack the thing would cut out so bad it wouldn't even hover.

RE: Flatana Setup question
what kind of speed control were you using?

RE: Flatana Setup question
are you sure you weren't drawing too much from the battery?
