Plane for an E Flight Park 480 motor?
 

Well I dorked my Katana Mini and broke the fuse, cowl, and hatch so I'm thinking of just getting another plane all together.
I have a Park 480 (1020kv), Castle Creations 25 and 45 amp ESC's, and a 3000 mah. Li-po batt., and HS-55 servo's.

I would like to know if anyone has used this combo or how it would work in one of these planes listed below?

HYPERION EXTRA 300L
HYPERION YAK 55 SP "10" ARF
HYPERION SU-31 BALSA ARF
Fliton Extra 330 Mini
Fliton Mini Edge 540
Extreme Flight Extra 300
BME mini YAK 54

Also, on the Castle ESC's, do you guy's set them up for most power, or best flight time?
I also have a Hi max 2815-4043 4.3 to 1 planetary gear box motor combo but I'm thinking that this is less powerful than the Park 480?

I'm slowly starting to learn this electric stuff but still having questions about it.

Any help, tips, links, or info greatly appreciated.

I have used your same set up in a E-Flight mini edge 540 and it works beautiful!

The new E-Flite Brio 10 would be great for that. You would probably want to get a smaller battery (1320 recommended or a 2100 lipo). I'm not sure if the Park 480 would be strong enough for the Extreme Flight Extra or not.

CUZ.. I got a 480.. this this is bad!@# I have it on a 24oz mini Funtana. It is vertical. It will pull the wings off if you want it to.. I would say the Efite mini Funtana, Edge 540 or the Ultra Stick. Anything under say 26 oz and it will be fun for sure. I think this motor has more power than my 40 Thunder Tiger on my trainer.. LOL

I'd say go with the BME Mini Yak. Much better quality than the E-flite birds.

I just stuck one in my Fliton Rogue3D bipe...havent flown it yet, but I think its gonna work just fine.

I'm really leaning toward the BME mini Yak. It seems to be getting a lot of great press.

The fliton planes are really built too light for this motor. I installed one in the fliton extra but never flew it before going back to a smaller motor. It was probably a good thing as the motor would rip the motor cage apart. It is a real powerhouse with an 11x7 or 12x6 prop. I have to say I was really surprised as I have the equivalent size AXI's and Hackers and I do not think they can compare for thrust (they are higher KV too). I think this motor would fly the EF extra if you could get it to balance. It is a bit lighter than the recommended setup and you could make about 280-300 watts with a 2100 pro-lite. I have flown it in a mini katana at about 28 oz. and it is plenty strong with hovering at 1/2 throttle. I just installed it in a Brio. Of the planes you listed, only the BME, EF, and HYP Yak would be immediately suitable. I have the HYP yak and extra and the extra is built really light and the motor is too big for the motor cage. The Yak 55 would work with an 11" prop. It is a beutiful plane. I have no experience with the BME yak

I am using the 480 in my BME Yak. This thing is insane with this motor. I am running a 12x6E prop on 2100 prolights. Go for it! Just make sure to glue the wings on. I learned the hard way however, I got it fixed up and flying again. This thing is a blast!

Hmm. Ive had no problems running the 480 on my Fliton Rogue3D. Run it up to full throttle in the backyard quite a few times, no problems. Its really quiet and smooth running. As long as you glue the motor box together well, I dont think it would be a problem.

There are a couple of guys here flying the Brio's on the 480. Nice flying ship, Im gonna have to get one for myself. 3D's really well.
