Biulding a 3d foamy
Looks and sounds easy
were are some good plane manuels what kind of foam do you use |
RE: Biulding a 3d foamy
Goto www.3Dfoamy.com and download some plans
Then order some depron from www.depronUSA.com or get blue fanfold foam from Lowes or HomeDepot and cut out the plans. Depron is a white hard foam. Its simular to the meat trays that your hamburger from the grocery store comes in. Great for building airplanes. Get some foam safe Cyanoacrylate "CA" glue and accelerator, and go to town. Its pretty easy to build one, and they are tons of fun. |
RE: Biulding a 3d foamy
The 3D foamy stuff rocks. all fly well.
Other sites worth a look with some plans are foamyfactory.com and 3dbatics.com The foamyfactory mini 3dx is awesome. As mentioned by bdavison, you will need foam safe CA, and something like UHU POR, a foam safe contact adhesive. I use a hot glue gun in some areas, but it takes a bit of practice to get it done neatly, and light. Dont forget to get some carbon fiber stuff, depending if you using 3mm or 6mm Depron. if you looking to buy some foamys, the Charger stuff looks very good and from reports are excelent flyers. chargerrc.com The Ikarus Shock flyers are great, in particular the Yak 54 and F3A. |

I am on #8 of the F-18 and 110% love this plane. 3DFoamy rocks. If you don't want to use FFF buy a laser cut kit from Depron from him at 3Dfoamy.com.
