What plane to learn 3-D without wheels?
I can't keep landing gear on my Little Banchee when landing on the rough lawn. What plane would be good for belly landings and would still do a little 3-D? Or, what modifications do you make when you fly/land on rough surfaces? I was thinking about putting a piece of music wire hanging down and bent back to keep the nose from digging in. Would I need a prop saver on the shaft of the motor too? What do you recommend?
Thanks, Bob |

I suggest either take the gear off or land in the street or driveway. I don't like prop savers.

I second WhtBronco's opinion. I don't like prop savers especially for hard 3D.

I fly an Ikarus Edge 540 with no U/C off grass without any proplems.
Of course you will need a prop saver. Run a length of carbon strip along the whole of the bottom of the model anchoring it solidly to the ply engine mount |

It has to land on the grass, driveway is too closed in... I guess I'll experiment with the options; music wire, nothing and with and without the prop saver. Thanks for the input
