3D to Trainer?

What would have to be done to make a , Example, yak 55 into a usuable trainer. Is this out of the question? Is it too fast for a trainer? Ron

RE: 3D to Trainer?

One can take any foamy and turn it into an aileron trainer. (Probably about your second airplane) What is done is to reduce the speed by putting on a low pitched prop, reduce all the throws on the servos, and never put the throttle above 1/4.

The problem with this however, is that it will still not fly straight and level if you took your hands off the stick (it has no diahiedral and no lift in the wing) Thus it must be constantly flown. (If you take your fingers off the sticks it will smash into the ground in about 30 seconds.

Trainers are a very special class of airplane that will forgive mistakes. Please see recommendations in the Begineers section.

(If however, you are really good at flying on a RC flight simulator, then it might be possible)
