What plane?
Can't decide what plane to buy! Gladly a bit 3D capable too and small enough so it can be flown in small areas (not any 3D shock flyers). I've already got a radio (Futaba 7C) and a 40A ESC for brushless motors. I've also got a 2s 1700mAh LiPO, and two 3s Lipo (1200mAh and a 2100mAh). I only need the plane, a brushless motor, servos and maybe a receiver too. My budget is around 200-280$ (plane, motor, servos and receiver). I already have som flight exeperince from before and I fly helicopter too;).

RE: What plane?
Wow! Those Airfoilz really look good! Nice flown too Mikeygp![sm=thumbs_up.gif][sm=teeth_smile.gif]. But, I'm a bit sceptical if they're too hard to fly. It was a long time since I last flew whit a rc-plane...But I've trained in the Reflex simulator a lot. It would be my third plane if I buy one and first low winged model too. How hard are they to fly? Thanks!

RE: What plane?
They are easy! I would go for the Yak 54 from AirfoilZ because it is a little bit more stable than the edge but either are a good choice and easy to fly... I've heard of people learning off of them!

RE: What plane?
Im also looking for a small electric that i can practice hovering and other 3d flying witout risking my bigger models. Just wanted to ask wat the 3d performace out of the airfoils is like and which one has the optimal performance. Also can they take some punishment ie fallout from low level hover (1 yard altitude or so).

RE: What plane?
I have had the Airfoilz Yak 54. It was a very good flying plane, and I probably built mine too heavy. After flying two or three other planes that were advertised as "3D" and not having much success, the Airfoilz Yak was the first plane I could actually hover. The Airfoilz planes are also very reasonably priced right now. I may be looking at the Bipe some time next year.
With all that being said though, I think there are other options too. No matter what someone wants, there is always someone on here who is quick to tell you "get an Airfoilz". I do think the e-foamies planes are better 3D trainers, and they are much more durable/crashable. They are also almost twice as expensive. If I had to do it again knowing what I know how, I'd probably go e-foamies first and then Airfoilz later. |
RE: What plane?
thanks a lot, ill check out the e-foamies and hopefully get something ordered.
