AMP Question

When im doing a bench test at home holding the plane and pulling say 50 amps, does that increase or decrease in flight, will my amps drop or get higher?

Thanks, Jeff

RE: AMP Question

Theoretically they could drop a little. When the plane is moving, there is less load on the prop. Unfortunately I can't say how much, but I would expect it could be 10%. There are devices that measure current in flight but I don't have one.

RE: AMP Question

Thats what I thought, I have an amp/watt meter but it does not record stuff.

RE: AMP Question

This is where the Eagletree data recorder comes in. Tells you the volts and amps while your flying, after you download it. Very usefull tool for other things too, selecting props to get the most out of your motor for instance.
