Tensor 4D?

I just bought a Tensor and am wondering if anyone flies one here. My only 3D-esque plane is a lightflite Bug. It's a blast, but is elevon. The long range goal is a very capable plane that I can fly in the same layout as the Bug. I think landing might be a problem until I'm comfortable with a low speed harrier onto the grass.

Any thoughts?

Hi I have and love a Tensor, It can be a really fun plane. I had purchased it to learn some basic 3d , It was a bad choice everthing is way to easy with it. It is still a very fun plane it locks into everything with ease really makes the pilot look pro, but I had a hard time moveing onto a larger 3d'r I was so used to the tensor just doing it with ease. Its a shame that they stoped makeing them its a real winner !!

Excellent news. I have a book on how to do 3d, but the rules are different for a bug;). The primary goal of the tensor is a zippy, capable plane to fool around with in the yard. I'm thinking about a Yak-55 for larger fields. I had one from blue foam but it came to an early demise:eek:.

[img][/img]LOL that happens alot MY Tensor doesn't like wind at all. I just got a art-tech yack that is rtf with rx lipos charger everthing, it cost 100, dollers , it is a great 3der really outstanding preformance and it feals like a much larger machine, all for 100, heck it hovers at about 3/4 power and the pull out is slow but for a yard duster it is a steal.

Are you flying on 2s or 3s? I'm going to be a bit under powered for a while. I have a bug that is a blast for out front flying.

I am on the 3 cell i think @ factory spec, I have a VP prop setup for it but it on the back burner for a little while. The tensor will work well with wide varity of setups, it pretty versital.

Avoiding, I hope you found the badius thread/community to your liking. I finished the build tonight. So I need to balance the plane and then see if it will fly. Here are a couple of pre balance pics.

I fly/ flew a tensor 4d for a while, but it only withstands so many grass landings. It flew great, did awesome harrier rolls and anything you wanted it too. Anyone have a suggestion for a good replacement since eflite quit making it.

I'm considering a tail skid, and some cf to strengthen the tail boom. Any thoughts?

I glued some of the extra support rod material to the tail as a tail skid, I don't think the tail needs more strength, its the only thing I haven't destroyed on mine:).

RE: Tensor 4D?

I tokk the plane out today. I hadn't even thought about launching. I ran the motor up and just let it go. It flew great. I have the rates at 50% and that was fine for high speed. When I slowed the plane down I had my high rates at 60%, not enough. My first flight was great, my second ended in a bad crash. The plane is repaired and the mod is ready to go. So I'll try it again tomorrow.
