2 or 3 blade prop for 3din'?

I have an E Performance Edge 540 40" plane from Great Planes with a Park 480 Eflight motor with a Eflight 25 amp ESC. I currently have a 2 blade 11x6 thin electric prop on it and i was wondering would a 3 blade prop do better or worse for 3d flying? i was looking at he Xoar 3 blade beechwood props or i was looking for a 3 blade carbon fiber in the 11x6 or 10x6 range...... any info would be helpful thanks guys....

I don't have any of the same stuff as you. However, a 3 blade prop is less efficient than a 2 blade. For all out 3d try longer prop lower pitch. Maybe a 12x4. 3 and 4 bladed props are for looks and ground clearance.

From my reading in these forums, and theory elsewhere, apparently the less blades the better. I think conventional thinking for rc aircraft is that you only go to extra blades for two reasons - scale appearance, or ground clearance.

That said, I think 3-bladed props look much cooler. I put a counter-rotating one on my Predator UAV, but my excuse was the ground clearance !! Hope this helps...Chris

Hey Sacman, I have the same plane and was wanting a little more punch for 3D. I am now running the recomended 10x7 and had wondered about an 11x6 or 11x5.5. Do you know how mant amps you are pulling with your 11x6? Thanks

How about a 2 and 1/2! lol. Id stick with the two. Ive heard that three looks great, but doesnt do very well for 3D ing.
