looking for durable 3d plane
 

I am looking for a durable 3d plane to fly in a small field. i have flown lots of depron foamys but they r way too fragile. i realize everything breaks but i am just looking for something more durable. i have a rimfire 22m-1000 10a esc and 3s 800mah lipos already so if something would work with that setup great if not thank god for visa

EPP foam planes seem more durable. More are coming out all the time. This one seems perfect for motor and speed control that you already have.

Ive have a lot of fun with the techone epp planes. The piaget is about $100.00 for a full combo($39.99 for just the plane and motor at hobbyking),full combo comes with motor,esc,servos and prop and the rainbow i just got but a 800 mah 3 cell would work well with that one and its airfoiled. Hobbyking carries techone planes if you already have your own gear for small epp planes in these size ranges and the ones on hobbyking come with the plane and a motor,the local shop out here sells them as an arf or full combo where ive been getting mine.

Whats the quality like? I've questioned why the prices are sooo cheap at Hobby King. I don't mind paying a bit extra for piece of mind.

No complaints on the qaulity,been flying the piaget almost a year and have plenty of videos of it. The piaget is a techonehobby plane,inexpensive,flys decent and very durable. The servos are quick and work well and no problems with the esc or motor,the epp seems just as durable as other epp out there in the same weight,density. On hobbyking qaulity i been getting the zippys and they work very well but havent tryed any of there motors etc.. feedback on motors etc has been iffy depending on the line of motors esc etc. The downside is the shipping but i usually order enough packs to offset the ems charge. The techone planes are available at a few places now in the states so hobbyking isnt the only place to get them. Ive been getting them through the local shop when they order them direct from techone. They have a lot of cool epp planes,ive flown the,piaget,pulama,and now the rainbow and there all fun and very affordable.. especially if you get the full combos offered.

How about a kit or scratch built epp profile foamy? The Slofly designs fly really well and are near impossible to destroy. Maybe for the setup you have a Superslo 32"
would be perfect.

I've built two of these myself and they're great flyers, and can handle a crash really well due to their simple construction. I actually prefer this to the Techone Piaget because there are no silly fins and airbrakes etc. to snap off when the plane inevitably hits the deck:eek:.
