Hello

Just got the larger vyper from 3dhs and its my frist large size electric I'v been runing 3s and 4s EDFs nitro planes
but nothing this big other thena 70inc GP relover with ST 90 . i have a few questions I'd like to do a nice set up but ( mid range perfromance ) I don't want to brake the bank I could easly see spend 1200 dollers or more vary easly

I am hopeing to be in the 800 ish all said and done . so what i am looking for is help anyone has done a set up on this can you tell me what your runing or what ESC motor / servo comp you'd use

also should i stay 6 S or does it really need a 8 s

my flying style i perf light wing loading I don't need massive power my skill set just isn't that powerful

RX AR7000

speed control ? I don't have one I was thinking about the Castel ICE 85 with bec but I'm worryed that the internail BEC might not be ideal
I honlsty don't if i should run a inline Bec or what speed control to run ? I'd love to hear some ideas here

from hobby king
Servos I have are time x4
Model: HD-7150MG
Voltage: 4.5v~6v
Speed: .19sec
Torque: 7.2kg/cm
Bearings: 2BB
Gears: Metal
Weight: 49g
Size: 40x20x37mm

anyone run these ? would you use them ? could going cheap here result in a crash ? i feel like I'm gambleing or something

or do i really need to spend 89 dollers on the Hitec 5985MG ? ouch that hurts just alot of money for servos to me personaly

LIPO

i have a Turnigy 4000mAh 6S 40C Lipo Pack

same question would you run this pack or do i need to spend 250 plus on a thunder power 8S ? I can't seem to find deals on larger size Lipos ? does this mean i should run two 4s ? would that result in weight ? and littel worryed about space I'd hate to buy packs that won't fit

and i hate spending so much money on a lipo packs 250 dollers plus just seems like wallet rape 8 (

Power plant

I don't have a power plant i was going to chose eather Scorpion 4025-12 / or Hacker A50-16S
the Scorpion is looking rather nice IMO

Thanks for viewing my post any pointers or advise I'd love to hear

also anyone flying this plane I'd to hear your storys

RE: looking for help form 3DHS fans on 65 vyper set up

I just saw this thread. I usually post on RC Groups. I fly with Scott who designed this plane when ever he gets a chance.
It is a sweet plane. Here's a link to my setup and the RC Group thread.

You just cant beat the support with 3DHS planes,,, Yes thats right. There customer service and the help with friendly and accurate setup is second to none. Bold statment for sure. BUT VERY TRUE!!!
Couple that with a first rate plane......

Vyper 3D 65 battery ejected in flight

About a year back my battery cracked my canopy while doing extreme stunts. Don't know if I fail to secure battery. Then flying that way for well over a year.

Two days ago my battery was ejected from the plane while doing the same thing as above, I remember strapping the battery even slightly repositioning it and I'm sure I pulled the strapp velcro tight. Luckily my vyper had a receiver battery so I still had control of the aircraft and landed safely even though CG was way off. Canopy was found on the ground on the pavement in 3 pieces. Battery was upwind from that about 150 ft and landed on mowed grass, fell from at least 130 ft or more. Surprisingly just slightly puffier than before rejection. Still works and have flown with that battery after ejection. I keep my batteries outside so I don't have to worry too much about fire.
