I dont think the 16x4 is enough prop for Good KE. I know I need more power. I could KE loop back into KE with the YS 1.20 so its not the plane its my lack of pure stump pulling power that is causing me problems. I was KE all the way down the runway but I cant really get it to climb well with out it getting all torqued up. Its kind of hard to explain, I just know it was smoother with a bigger prop-17x6. Is that what you are running on the 1.10? I almost have to get the fire stoked up before I go into KE. Its impressive for the crowd, I just like a slow KE pass vs a full power pass in KE. I have to work on it, I'm too used to my E-flite YAK-54 and its slow KE circles and lazy rolling circles, when I switch over to a real plane gravity has a greater influence.

I use a 16x6 on my Mayhem with the 110. I don't think it would pull the 17x6. I've used a 17x4W and it handles that nice but I like the 16 better. It would hover easier with the 17x4W but wouldn't pull out as well,...What!?!?! Doesn't make sense but that's what I found. For all around I like the 16x6. I'm pretty high, I know you are too. Anyways, mine will do the slow KE with pretty high alpha. Really do like the plane.
thanks,
Barry

I'm going to order the APC 16.5x5W tomarrow and see how the .91 likes it, I could use some more bite as I pull out of the hover as well.

HI all sorry it took so long too get back too you on this matter but been busy. Thanks Barry for the info on the flat spin and all .I am running a Saito 150 on my Mayhem and I'm not liking for POWER.I think I can pull a 18 in prop if I wanted too.But the 16/4 APC-W is what I have on it for now.I have a 16/6 comp prop I am going too try this weekend and I will get back with you on it.I hope too have someone at the field too help me a little too I am always looking for help.I don't think you can be too old for help.We are going too have a big flying party on the 4th and one of the games is too go straight up for 60 sec and cut the motor and stay up as long as posible befor you have too land dead stick.how Do you think the Mayhem do againce the UCD?I think my Mayhem will go out of site befor 60 sec is up LOL.Well thanks again.

My LHS in Reno got the APC 16.5x5W props in today. My valve cover gasket came apart on me so as soon as I get a new valve cover gasket I will get her back in the air and see what shes got. I think this prop is gonna be the ticket for the .91 and should really work well on the 1.10 too.

i was thinking of buying a saito 150 tommorrow, then i read your email and know i am conserned that u do not like the power or is the power good u just cant find the right prop. being kinda following this forum and was thinking that motor would be good because right know i have a St90 and am not happy with the power at all. i dont want to spend 500$ on a motor that donsnt perform please any advice before i spend money is greatly viewed and if u gentlemen can tell me some props that might work i will do it all in one order.

I fly my Mayhem with a YS 110. It is about perfect for it, but I'm not sure where you would get one. I think the Saito 150 would be an excellent second choice as it is very similar in horsepower and is just a little bit heavier. I think about 3-4 ozs. You would use a 16x6 prop or a 17x4W. Either one would give very good performance. Again, the Saito 150 would be an excellent engine choice. Hope this helps,
Thanks,
Barry

if you get a saito 150, you're going to have to sand of one of the mounts (where the carb sits). Even then, it'll be just slightly long.

Hi hogzeke I an flying my Mayhem with a Saito 150 and A 16-4 APC wide and have all the pulling power I need.I have a 16-6 Master/craft but have not tryed it yet.I have my Mayhem set up like the book calls with the exception of the Battire, I made a hatch 1/2 way from the servos too the tail and mounted it on it edge in the hatch,I had some good pilots at the field on the 4th and they flew it and really liked the way it handled and the way the motor pulled.I hope this might help you.Good luck and happy flying.

I am looking for the tail wheel bracket that comes with the Mayham 90. Does anyone know who makes it? It looks very light, but strong.

BTW does this look like a Mayham 40? I picked it up at a swap meet 2 years ago and finally got it in the air a couple of weeks ago. I think it is about 60" and weighs 6 pounds with a ST.75--Flies very nice.

Im all for overkill myself but i dont see the need for the 150. Im still running the old beat up 100 with the 16-4 and 20% fuel. Weighed in at 7.24 pounds hovers and pulls out effortlessly. Its my fovorite plane this year. I run an os 120 supercharged motor on my ultra stick lite and a 180 saito on my my 50" ultimate bipe but im just not seeing the need for more on this one yet.

Spacewalker. Will you trade that plane for a Yak? That thing is sweet.

Hot Wheels. You're right. With the Mayhem it will be fine with a Saito 100. It's light enough that it works nicely.

Thanks,
Barry

I belive the tail wheel is genuine sig hardware. Buddy had the LHS order in one for his Funtana.

Guess what. It does a very mean Harrier. I have 2 negative things to say about it.

1) It is not KE Loop capable--but does KE fine with a lot of mixing.

2) It does not look scale

It is a riot to fly though. Do you think it is a 40 Mayham?

My Mayhem went down a while ago due to channel shutdown. It's now sitting in my garage in 3 pieces waiting to be repaired. Flying other planes now I realized how solid the manuvers were on it. I've never seen such a nice wall or parachute. And of course there's the nice and slow landing I never experienced with any other plane. It spoiled me too much as I botched a landing with a Funtana and almost botched one the exact same way with my H9 Extra.

grandad1...I love my Mayhem too. That rising flatspin is one of the coolest maneuvers I've ever seen. Too me it is neater than a harrier, water fall, KE or just about anything except the infamous flat spin landing. My Mayhem will do the rising flat spin easily and so will my UCD46 and now maybe my UCD60 (with the new 110 in that baby). A Twist will do it but I haven't seen any other planes (at any price tag) do it. I complained about that with my Yak that it should do a better flat spin and the people on that thread couldn't stand it and threw me off. The Mayhem is cool and I love it.
Thanks
Barry

Hay thanks guys for responding.Barry my flat spind is not just real flat but I am working on it,I don't know the names of all the moves but it still gets the crow too hollow when I do one.I have let other friends fly the Mayhem and they all love the plane too and how it flys ,One of the guys flew it Sunday and told me that was his next plane to buy.Hope you get your mayhem put back in the air soon Strulag hate too hear of one out of comishion. All thro I did burn my 40 size Corsia in Saturday after doing a roll and I gues it snap and went into a sproil dive and I couldn't recover it.But it was hard too fly not like the Mayhem I am sticking too the BIG birds now I can see them better and they don't fly as fast. Thanks again Barry and all have fun at the field.
