Default Best 3D plane for my Moki 2.10??

O.K. guys, I'm all ears. Lets hear your suggestions for a VERY 3D capable plane to put my stump-pullin Moki 2.10 in. I've been flyin a Wild Hare Edge 540T all summer, and its all good until it comes to harriers and elevators. I'm talkin VIOLENT wing rocking. So I'm lookin for sumthin with some stability in elevators and the like. Thanx in advance to all who reply.

Get the Dave Patrick Edge, of a Big Cap. My Lanier is much more stable in a harrier ( no wing rocking) but then I run gas.

I'm sorry, but I gotta ask: What the heck does runnin gas have to do with wing rock? I guess I should have mentioned I'm running a DA 50 in my WH Edge.

If you want the best flying planes for the Moki get the OMP Edge or Yak. Their profiles but have lots of wing area and are very light. Jim

If you can find one the H9 80" cap is solid in 3D. No wing rocking whatsoever. This was one of the best/stable 3D planes
in its size out there. Unfortunately it is no longer in production. Too bad. Hope they replace it with something along the same
size that 3Ds just as well. There might be a few still around in the local hobby stores or maybe people selling them on rcuniverse.

I also have a DP Extra with a moki 2.10 that 3Ds pretty good provided there is no wind. In any kind of wind though, the DP is difficult
to maintain steady harriers and perform other types of 3D maneuvers with precision.

How do you think that agressor would run with a 50cc gasser? Impressive as hell, tempting infact... but I'm not into big electric or glow anymore.

Do you have one/is that you or are you just reccomending one?

Put that moki on the chip hyde CAPX, would be a perfect fit, I have the WH EXTRA and the DP EDGE and the CAPX is by far the better machine to harrier with. I had to add about 8 oz to the nose of my CAPX to get it to balance w/OS 1.60, the heavier Moki should be just right.

I have my 2.10 in a Kangke/SuperKraft Texas Hurricane and I think it's a fantastic combo. Is the Moki 2.10 one sweet engine or what? If you want to go big and don't mind the mess with glow fuel the 2.10 is the ticket, mine starts on the third flip of the prop every time, I don't think mine is quite broken in yet and still fly's the hurricane at 15 pounds with power to spare.

People complain about the mess but I don't see why. My Kangke CAP232 has a Moki 1.80 with a pitts muffler. It spits most of it straight down and really doesn't get on the fuse. There's some right behind where the muffler exits and behind the main gear on the bottom and that's it (and it's tuned plenty rich).

BTW, the Moki 2.10 weighs 1 lb less than a gasser with equal HP. And on a 15 lb plane? Man that thing must hover at 1/4 throttle.

With me there is mess.[:-] A ton of it too. If there is any little hole in the covering the wood will completely soak on my H9 Edge.
Considering its power I guess I dont mind much as long as I dont leave any holes in the covering.

PS: My only problem with my Moki is reliability. They have poor fuel draw when doing 3d. I would reccomend if you have any problems put a Cline or an Iron Bay fuel regulator on it.

Also I don't want to ruin this thread with "Moki is good or not" type of stuff.

Back on topic I have heard a lot of good things with the Cap X.

Hey 3D kid, are you running your moki with the "large" diameter fuel line? Mine came out of a H9 Edge, and that dude would hover for as long as I could hold it with no regulator, but large fuel line.

Thanx for all the suggestions guys, I promise to check them all out.

Uhh read the thread title again 3-D kid it's all about the moki and what plane works best for it. If you are having fuel draw problems a cline fuel pump works well but try bigger fuel line first from the clunk all the way to the carb. Unless the tank is a foot away from the engine or there is a problem with the tank being to low or high the large line does the trick.

i'll go with rockmon with this one, my dad had a texas huricane, with a moki 2.10 with a 22x8 mejzlick hover at 1/4-1/2 throttle and pull out with athorty, and harriers have very little to no wing rock. and it will do any 3d manover in the book with ease, just rember what ever you get put a 32oz tank in it for ten minute flights

32 ounce tank? A Moki 2.10,? Huh? Dude, I have a 20 ounce tank on my Moki 1.80 and it does 12 minute flights with half a tank left over. The 2.10 does not use too much more.
