I am about to set-up a pull pull system on the rudder of my H9 1/4 scale Cap 232. I am using the Du-Bro 4-40 pull-pull kit.
However, I don't have the small crimp tubes (the small steel cylinders) anymore, to crimp the lines. Can I safely use small pieces (say 3/8" long) of brass fuel tubing to do the same job? Also, can I use a pair of vise-grips to safely secure the brass tubing?
Thank you,

Go to the hobby shop and buy a piece of copper tubing about the same diameter as your brass fuel tubing. the copper is more maleable (sp?) - it bend and cuts easier.
for a neat cut, roll the tubing back and forth under an xacto knife blade on a hard surface. Then debur the inside edge of the tube with the tip of a #11 blade. A sharp xacto blade cuts the copper very nicely.

I would suggest you stay with the steel. It will form a more secure connection than brass, which is much softer. Your choice.
You may be able to get steel tubes of the correct size at a fishing supply store. Probably in a steel leader kit or such.

Thank you for the suggestions. I went ahead and used the brass fuel tubing method, and it seems to hold well.
Well I guess I will not be able to test the machine this year... I just received a phone call: new job, Astar 350 pilot!!! (full scale helo).
YIPPPPPPEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
