Hey guys, the airplane is actually the original Extra 300 configuration, with a much higher wing placement than the current 300S and 300L. We have posted more information on the plane at the following link:
http://www.extremeflightrc.com/produ...l/45EExtra.htm
Video should be up this week. Planes are just leaving China and should be here in the U.S. mid-February.

Are you guys looking for this? Hehehehe ... I got the samples! Amazing plane ... will maiden one this weekend I hope!

Plane is really nice and is built like the H9 F90 or Extra 260, carbon fibre tube, f/glass horns, pull-pull rudder, the hatch us held down by magnets, there are air scoops on the engine mount box. Well built and lovely to fly I am sure.

The plane is very easy to build, I managed it without a manual, however I had a great time in getting the elevator in as without the manual it was really like trying to do Rubik's Cube! There is nothing difficult in assembling it. The new Torque motor will happily turn an APC 11x4.7, the one in RED is my favourite.

This is what it looks like in the box, Chris Hinson has bothered enough to ensure all is covered in Bubble Wrap

Awesome Chris !!! Just what my tases have been migrating to...a bigger than parkflyer scale 3D plane ! Now if we could please get one around 65"-78" that is built light with an electric option or just built for electric I would be in heaven ( doesn't have to be an Extra, could be a Yak, Edge, Giles , etc..).
I have been mourning the loss of my Mini 3D since flying it to it's death in the winds last Monday, but now I have something for the gear !!
You need any building/testing done here in the US ? I'll pay for it right now !!

For me I would love to get a nice 40 sized plane for freestyle, something about 60" wingspan, 5.5 lbs AUW or perhaps 6 lbs in EP version.

Dang...I was just thinking about putting together a new foamy. This one has me thinking hard...I used to think that electrics were practical up to 1 pound--now I am thinking maybe 2 pounds.[&:] I am looking forward to some video.

And now, Red or Blue?

It's NOT a 330!!!!!!! It is a midwing 300 - the old design.
And, for the record, the 330 was just a 300L with a 330 HP engine instead of a 300 HP engine...

I was betting that the next 87"er was going to be a 260 -- now I change my bet to one of these.

Man did they hit this one on the nose. This plane is a thing of beauty -- scale is great, color scheme is perfect. It looks like it is very closely related to the 260. [&:]

Does anyone have a weight or performance specs on the recommended power package?

the new motor is the new 2830/1095, i think! with a 35A esc and TP 2100 pro lites it aparently gives you the same power to weight as the Yak 55sp with the 22T/930 motor, in other words, mental!

the AUW is 30z, so think >60oz thrust

I maiden the Extra today, the plane is great but my choice of using some GWS Naro clones from a pal was bad. Too much free play and the plane felt soggy. The choice of an APC 11x4.7 SF was also not too good. Tomorrow I will get her up with an APC 12x6E. However, the plane flies really nice, landings are so easy, it can come in really slow without any worry of stalling. I compared it with my Fliton Prodigy, the Prodigy is much more nimble (twitchy), the EF Extra is a very smooth flying plane. At times I think it feels like flying a F90. Hope to get some pictures at the field up tomorrow and a better flight report.

Did you get more flight time on it? How was the prop change? I am gathering hardware info to order up. Does the kit come with a spinner?

Thanks

The samples sent to me has no spinner, also there are some upgrades to the ones that will be hitting the market. I have not had more air time with her and not changed to a bigger spinner but I think I know why the performance was just sufficient, my ESC timing was set at 0 degrees, not the correct setting. Also, I bumped her a bit and I need to carry out some repairs.

Chris is now in Penang, Malaysia setting up the factory. He will be taking one of the samples up to show the local guys how much fun the plane is. I hope to meet him next week when I go up to see him. I had one heck of a time waiting for him at the airport, he decided to 'take a tour' of Hong Kong and we wondered how 3 adults can get lost on a flight!

I would guess that the 11 X4.7 SF prop would flatten way out at 30 amps? I am pushing about 18 amps (I think close to 2 pounds of [email protected]~6000rpm) with mine and would guess that this is getting closer to the upper limit with that prop. [&:]
