Better for 3D: U-CAN or Flip3d
Guys,
Quick question. For starting out in learning 3D, which plane would you suggest, the greatplanes U-Can-Do-3D or the Kyosho Flip3d. Heard good things about both with the advantages being that the U-Can is bigger. However people seem to say the Flip3D is excellent. Also looking at the GSP Giles3D 40 but no info on that.
So any advice would be appreciated.

Flip or UCD
Owning both, I must give you my opinion.
For starting out, the UCD would be much better. It does most everything very well and extremely stable. The Flip is not a beginner 3D plane.
It very hard to describe the differences between the two in written form.
If you want it verbally, PM me, and give me a phone number and I'll you. I can always talk airplanes

YNOT - how easy is the Flip to see in the air (with all that transparent covering)? I know you're 'sposed to keep it somewhat close to you, but sometimes when theres a ton of people in the air I fly it further out...

***WARNING*** Please do not take offense at this post
It sounds like the Flip is one heck of a plane. Lots of fun, wild 3D, and all that. But boy is it ugly. Pastel splatters of paint? I'm thinking about buying one and recovering it. Yeah I guess I'm superfiscial to some degree. I admit it.
With a plane that flys that good they should've come out with 2 covering schemes like the SE. One manly sport scheme and one of the current scheme. I wonder what the sales numbers would be like.

Flipper
The Flip is pretty easy to see in the air. I painted the canopy and that makes it allot easier to spot the top and bottom. I am used to flying a Madness that has perfectly clear wings.
And yes, the covering job on the Flip is...............different. Funny thing, it matchs some of the other planes I have covered myself and some of my shoes.

I also like the Flip 3D a lot, but think it wouldn't be a recommendable starting 3D bird. Pretty wild (due to the tapered wing I guess) which makes it a lot of fun if you have some experience with these type of planes.
Actually the covering is visible pretty good in the air, and you can distinguish the top from the bottom well enough even at a little further distance (at least I can).

Started building the Flip today!
I'm really impressed with the quality of Kyosho, Can't wait to get it done!
I have one question, Is anyone running standerd servo's on the Alieron's? I have some Hitec digital 5945's for the rudder and elevator.

Digital 5945's??? WOW!! Thats a lot of servo for that plane. I see it used most on the 40%. But I always say you cant have enough throw and torque
As for the standard servos, you will probobly get people saying they are great and it throws their plane around fine, but thats more than likely b/c they havent flown it with a better servo. I would go with something that is at least 70lbs of torque. YOu gotta remember in a high alpha rolling type of position you will need a lot of throwage to get it to roll.

Since the subjects been broached I figured I'd stick my 2 cents in here, maybe somebody from Kyosho will see it.
I would have bought a Flip a year ago if it had a different covering. (Almost bought one of their Cap's too, used to be available in a blue and yellow scheme, and the Breitling. I ordered it in the blue and yellow just when they discontinued it)
