i'm looking between two 3d airplanes to get. this would be my first 1/4 scale plane and i would like to know which would be a better performer. The choice is between the GP extra 300s gene soucy and the wild hare 73" edge540T. Any suggestions would be great thanks

GP Patty and Gene are heavy planes if you wanna talk about 3D. The Wild Hare will be a better plane.
Wing Area
Gene - 1048 sq inch
WH - 1090 sq inch
AUW
Gene - 12-13.5 lbs
WH - 11-11.5 lbs
Wing loading
Gene - 26-30 oz
WH - 23-24 oz

I vote for the hangar 9 260 for a true 1/4 scale. the wh edge is on the small side but a excellent flier also. The gp soucy is a older model and on the heavy side. The yak or cap are better choices if your looking at a gp planes.

This wasn't a choice but if you are looking for 3D in a similar size plane, take a look at the Ultra RC Giles. A little larger in wing area and lighter in weight. I know a guy who has one and it is a 3D machine.
