Default Free DVD of the Tucson Aerobatic Shootout is ready for download

We have completed the production of the DVD covering the highlights of the 2006 Tucson Aerobatic Shootout! It includes almost all the freestyle flights and the unfortunate crashes that took place. Also included are Jason Krause's amazing heli demos!

The DVD is NOW available for FREE download as an ISO image so you can burn the DVD right on your own DVD burner at will. You may make as many copies as you want for your flying buddies or friends as long as you do not charge for them. You may also distribute it on your own servers or any way you want as long as you do not charge for it.

We are looking for a helping hand from anyone and everyone who can help host this 4GB DVD ISO image on their server. If we can get a wide range of members here that have access to servers or bandwidth and can house this file for download then no single person will get buried from the onslaught of the downloads of this large file.

If you are able to lend a hand with the distribution of this DVD ISO image file please contact me by either PM, email or post in here. We'll compile a master list of all the url's where users can download the dvd image from.

Go to www.rcuvideos.com/dvd and follow the instructions. Please not we are distributing this via peer to peer file distribution method known as "Bittorent or Utorrent". More info is on the instruction page. Disregard any previous notes about downloading 4 chunks and combining. that method is temporarily deprecated while we do this in one chunk using bittorrent!

------ update 11/16 New mirrors added ----

Go to www.rcuvideos.com/dvd and follow the instructions.

you should download using bittorrent which should work. instructions at link below:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=5024459

Ok...we have our first mirror up and I should have another distribution setup shortly over a wide network.

Right click "Save File as" to your drive this link below:
http://rcu.control-host.info/TucsonA...tout2006_2.iso

Then use your DVD burning program to burn to your DVD+R blank

If you need some dvd burning software try CDBurnderXP Pro it is free software:
http://www.cdburnerxp.se/download.php

If you use the CDBurnerXP Pro choose the first/top option when the program launches and then from the file menu choose "Write Disc from ISO file". Browse your drive for the ISO file and burn away your Tucson Aerobatic Shootout DVD. If you need help just post in here.
----- end update 11/16 -------------

Why not just bittorrent the file?
That way everyone shares in the distribution..

We were looking at bittorrent last night but it seems the search is not 100% for it. I tried bitorrent but they won't take your file yet without applying for them to take it. we wait for a reply there. on limewire.com the file does not always show up on a search for it because it isn't always within reach. if you know of a bitorrent system/network/client that would overcome these hurdles I am game for that. it is a great solution if we can make it work. if not I need to take up the offers above and all new ones to host this file to distribute the load widely

Hi Marc,

I work for a hosting company and could setup an HTTP mirror with 2-3 Mbps connection.

Let me know if you're interested and we'll discuss.

Yep, I tried save as first and that's when I get the header error. If I just click on it I get the "new" error page saying it cannot find it. I'll do some digging to see if I can find a way to fix it in the broswer

coming next we will have 3 files each around 1GB and one around 800MB. First file will be an exe plus 1/4 of the DVD image which will automatically join the other 3 ".rar" file partitions. this should help some IE issues I think as a work around.

Marc,

It looks like IE7 is having issues with the size. After it sends the GET request it fragments the packet that is received even with the DF bit is set.

can you disable the PIX to test for a few minutes? I should have the 4 part file setup online in just a bit here. I am just downloading the final part here locally so I can test the combining of all 4 pieces into one large ISO image and then if all ok I'll post links to those files and instructions on how to combine and burn.

Marc,

I just dropped the pix and still no go and just found the following on blog.msdn.com

Looks like there is some "things" going on the M$ is aware of.

The supplied HTTP header is invalid and not recognized by the remote server. Check that your browser is supported

Basically the mirror does not understand the commands the browser is sending which in turn would make sense since the browser is sending a fragmented packet with the DF (Don't Fragment) bit set on the packet.

Then again I could be way off base but packet captures do not lie.

I'm thinking that once the multiple files are ready then it will not be a problem

You can get a head start on the multiple (4) files and start testing that here:

http://www.rcuvideos.com/dvd/

The first file is a self combining file which will join all 4 parts into one. The instructions so far explain this as you will see. I'll have more on this page in just a bit to take users through the burn procedure too if they don't know how.

I am still working on the directions and testing but all seems ok so far. See how you make out with those.

Marc,

These work just fine. I did not actually download them but they do work using "Save As" as I was able to choose the location where to save them which I could not before using IE7.

So it looks like IE7 may be having problems with the full sized file where as Firefox works just fine (Kinda expected that ). I do not have IE6 installed anywhere here but I can check it at work tomorrow morning unless someone posts that they are using IE6 and did not have a problem with it

I sent you a PM with a bit more info in it

Those 4 files checksummed perfect with the MD5 so they are "golden" so to speak. Everyone can download them, combine them and create the ISO image from them to burn the DVD. Instructions are on that page. Remember you can burn as many of these as you want for your friends and distribute them as you wish as long as you do not charge $$$ for them. Enjoy

Has anyone tried to burn the ISO to a DVD? I want to make sure this whole process is working end to end.

Thanks,
Len

I just checked using IE6 and it downloads fine so IE7 may have problems for some of the members

Thanks for all the hard work on this Marc... I cannot wait to get it burned and watch it
