I don't think the fuel will make anywhere near as much difference as the correct choice of engine, plug and prop.
Around here we fly with just 5% nitro ($$$$) and have no problems with "bogging down" when running a good quality engine such as a Thunder Tiger 46Pro, OSxxAX, Saito, etc.
Other brands (such as SuperTigre and some cheaper Chinese brands) can have problems with an excessively rich mid-range that makes life difficult for 3D.
Just make sure you don't go too "budget" on the motor and you'll have no problems, even with low-nitro fuels.

We call it 'Gasoline' or 'Petrol'.
Sorry, couldn't resist. I'm a recent convert to gas...still can't believe how much better it is, for me, anyway.

Definitely!!
Seriously, if you want optimal performance for 3D in a glow setup, you cannot beat a good 4 stroke engine on 30% fuel. 2 strokes will do you ok, but there is no comparison in performance for 3D with a good 4 stroke. For fuel, I like to use Cool Power Fuels. What is so great about them you ask? CONSISTENCY!!! It's like going to McDonalds and buying a cheesburger, no matter where you go in the world or when you go, even if its been years, when you buy a McDonalds cheeseburger its always EXACTLY the same as the last one. Same thing with CP, the fuel is consistant, consistantly high performing gallon after gallon it never changes. I cannot say that for any other fuel. I have also had good luck with Wildcat fuels as well just not as much experience as with Cool Power. There are several others that are "ok" but they are not always the same. I really like Magnum fuels when they are good, but I dont like that I have to totally retune my engines everytime I open a new case of fuel.
