Default WildHare's 120 size Edge 540 and Extra 260 are available again

Has anyone seen or put together Wildhare's latest versions of their Edge 540 or Extra 260?
Like the Aero Works Yak the wing area is 960sq/in they are supposed to come in around 9-10 lbs and will take glow or gas in the 120 -160 range.

At $300 plus a $50 hardware kit; Are these birds at the top of the food chain?

http://www.wildharerc.com/products/Edge540Extra260/

If you have put one together, how did you spec it out (servos, engine, AUW etc. ).

Thanks.

I have V-1 of the so called WH Baby Edge 540,
I installed the O.S. 160 w/BC Pitts muffler (with no pump), I used Hitec HS 5945 servo's on Ail, Elev & Rudder with pull pull set up,sandard on throttle. Carbon fiber main gear and tail wheel. weights in about 11 lbs. Its on it's third flying season with about I would guess 250 flights on it. the CG is still at the factor recomended setting. When I started flying the Baby Edge I was starting my Advanced stage in Areobatics and this year I achived my Unlimited statis. My instructor was amazed at my proficiency and excelleration in advancement in my flying in the past 2 1/2 years. I really loved this plane and I'm making the move to gas and recently purchased the 28% WH Edge 540. Tom at Wild Hare is always a phone call away and will not steer you wrong.
I also forgot Im running a APC 17 X 4 prop, It fly's great at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and snaps great on Avelances and spins are very tight, but still floats like a trainer on landing.
The WH Baby Edge 540 V2 looks great and I am not disapointed in my Baby Edge.

Wow. Sounds like a WH spokes person I'm thinking their are many out there that would feel the same way.

Was V.1 expected to weigh in at 11 lbs. I don't recognize the servo 5945. Do you mean HS5645MG 143oz/168oz. Is that the needed torque range?

Since you've seen both of the new ones, if you were to do this again would you pick the 260 over the Edge or visa versa?

I too have a OS 160 FX. I spoke with Tom who said keep the RMPS down if using this engine to extend the life of the frame. Would you agree?

Thanks for the feed back.

Well I'm not the spokes person, that would be Tom, but I am very satisfied with my Baby Edge V1. I't has served me well. The Hitec HS 5945 servo's I have on it were dicontinued shortly after I bought them from Tower. I think Hitec went to to 5645 shortly there after.
I think my Edge weights is at under 11 lbs, because it's very light. The discription of the V-2 sounds great and it looks like Tom lightened the new version up to help with the OS 1.20, If it hovers with the 1.20 size engine then it will be bullistic with the OS 1.60 and way over powered with the Moki 1.80.
The air frame on mine is still good, before I started building mine, I hit all the wood joint areas with med CA and I pinned the engine box as a precation.
I usually fly my OS 1.60 around 1/2 throttle and use the exrta power for pull outs and added pwer when I need it. I did have to block the left inlet hole on the cowel to get more air flow over the engine.

Anyone have an idea how these would fly with a 26CC? They seem to be about the same size as the CMP Giles 202. Had a 26 on the Giles and didn't do all that well. Would fly but struggled. Haven't had the chance to weigh the Giles but I think it's heavier that the WH based on the projected weights of the WH.

if i may ask, are you talking a gas 26cc on the cmpro giles, as i run a 26cc glow (160fx) and its unlim power. no struggling what so ever, but a spe or even worse a zenoah 26 would definately struggle on it.

I finally got one. just building it now but this is way cool.
I decided on the 260 since I've already got the Seagul Edge.

It bearly needs glue to assemble. I had a 160FX sitting around so as you mentioned plenty of power.
I'm starting with HS5245MG and HS5965 for the rudder. It looks cool, feels cool, way lite and the easiest assemble that I've done.

It's snowing up here but already I'm trying to find other fields for me to take it out for a spin.

Your Extra looks pretty cool. Looks alot like the 33% WH Extra 260 but only in red and yellow instead of red and white. My Baby Edge 540 is going on its 3rd year and tho it is showing its age with a ding here and there its still a great fun plane to fly. Every manuver Ive asked it to do from snaps to up upright to inverted spins to flat spins my Baby Edge 540 performs very well.
I was able to get my 28% Edge 540 up in the air at the beginning of June and may I say the 28% acts alot like the Baby Edge 540. With very little difference. I just trying to get the plane dialed in. And when I do I am confident that my 28% wont let me down.

Has anybody used a four stroke on this edge? What would you suggest?

I think this plane is a perfect match for the lighter 26cc motors. I've had my baby edge for 4-5 months, perfect entry-level gasser. 3Ds great with plenty of pullout. CG easly within range by moving batteries around.

My Setup:

HS 5645s all around
HS 225MG Throttle
Brillelli 26cc turning Menz 18x6 @8600 RPM
Spektrum AR7000
1100mah A123

And the real kicker... All up dry weight 9.8 lbs.

Edit to Add:
The only way I will get rid of this plane is to plant it into the ground... And then I will buy another one.
