Aeroworks Edge 540T
hey, I have the Edge with an OS 91 4s. Can anyone tell me what would be a good prop for this set up to try and do some basic 3-D moves? I hear so much about props it makes me loopy.... does less pitch give it less pull? vise versa? thanks for any help....

It was a great build.. It was only my second attempt so I was a little slow going but, it came together with ease... it is a really well constructed plane... I should have bitten off a little less being such a newbie but, it was truly a fun build... and man does it fly...... big, fast and spot on...

Same set up as I'm running. I've been up and down the prop ladder and settled on an APC 14x4W. This prop gives me unlimited verticle pull and is great at get-me-out-of this-mess ability. I have not hovered but that is lack of pilot ability at this point. I would go to a more powerful engine for advanced 3D but I enjoy what I can do with this engine/prop/plane set-up.

RE: Aeroworks Edge 540T
thanks flyn hy... Ive ordered a 15-4 APC... Ill tell the guy at the LHS to get me a 14-4 also.. In my mind it always seemed to me that having more pitch would have given it more pull... but, this is backwards... thanks for the help..

The 15x4w ran fine but the 14x4w lets the engine hit its' sweet spot. The plane has more authority with the 14x4w when I kick it in the butt.

The 14x4W will throw more air over a wider area on the airlane which is better for 3D. More thrust or instant power then say a 14x6. By going to a 14x6or8 the plane will be much faster but it will take more time to get up to speed. but once it gets there the lane will be alot faster.
I spin a 15x4 on a os 91FX i have a hangar 9 twist 60 sized. Great 3D lane (huge wing)
I have a Seagull model edge 540T 60/90 size and I run a Saito FA1.25 swinging a 17x4 Prop. All apc wide props. 3D fun fly.
On my gassers a SD Model yak 54 33% / ZDZ80 and a Aeor-Works Edge540T 31% / ZDZ80 have a pt model 26x10 and 26x8 props.
All about torque rolling and being on the deck. Man planes are a blast. I used to be a hardcore heli guy and are like you guys loving planes now and learning tons. Keep it up guys lets rock!!!

RE: Aeroworks Edge 540T
wow, this thing is a BLAST!
just had my maiden flight yesterday and it was flying great! straight & level, with cg set @ 3", landing was way too smooth. didn't hover yet as the engine isn't fully broken in, vertical climb is good with an APC 15x6 props on a saito 100 engine.
