Hi guys
I am about to build a Showtime .50, I am going to use an O.S. 91 Surpass engine and I was thinking in using mini servos to save some weight but i don't know if i am going to have to much problems mounting the servos as the openings in the plane are for standar size servos has anyone tried to use them?, also i was thinking in the balance i don't want to add any extra wight to the plane so what do you guys think? should i use them?or should I get some good standar servos?
The servos I am planing to use are these ones http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXLN95&P=SM

hey blackbird, with a 91 in their i dont think you will really need a mini servo to save on weight, you are already overpowered. I have the same setup and I hover the crap out of this plane with regular servo's.

If they have been known to last that why not. Alot of people overlook how heavy there plane gets with a big engine. While you still need a big engine to do 3d, wing area is important to.

Thanks for the replay guys
In know I am already overpowered XD but thats what i am looking for i recently crashed my UCD 46 with a O.S. 70 Surpass it was enough power the engined pulled out really well my plane even at 6.6 lb ( 3 crashes before the last one XD ) but when i crashed i was very low and couldn't save it, now i am looking to have more power to feel more confortable at low height but if it's going to work with standar servos I will use them but i am still looking at the mini servos because the torque they have and also because of the metal gears , hey NJAIRSTRIKE what servos are you using? and what was your final weight?
Thanks again guys
Sergio

don't use mini servos....mini are too expensive for what you get.....get like hitec 5925's or something or even less......any digital hitec servo would be fine (also you probably want metal gears to with all the shaking of a 4-stroke)
