Default Cap 231 EX

I have a 40 size cap 231ex with a gms .47 .
The plane looks like it would be 3d capable? or no ?
Do you think the .47 is too weak of an engine for some 3d stuff and if not what prop should I use?

I too had that plane. the .47 might be a bit on the shy side for power. If you built it light, say, 4.5-5 lbs you should be fine. If it was built like mine, not enough. I think a .60fx is best matched with this plane

Be careful, that particular airplane might not hold up in the 3D Stuff. Just isn't strong enough. Trust me, I KNOW.

If this is the Great planes arf then it needs alot of power. Go for the 60 fx or similar, a 46 wont cut it. You also must be sure the wing hold down is corrected, as some had extra play if built as suggested in the original plans. I have some old reviews if you need them. This plane (the gp 231ex) for me is not a good flyer. It is heavy and seems to snap easily. Some have said a change in wing incidence may help, I dont know. I know I dont fly mine anymore after 4 to 5 rebuilds after snaps on landing. If its not the GP cap 231 ex then I'm all wet on all this..
