I was thinking of getting an Extra 300. I was wondering if any of you know if there is a significant difference between The Tower Hobbies, Super Tigre, OS and GMS 2 stroke engines, all around the .75 size. There is a signifiacnt difference in price but I was wondering about performace quality, etc.</p>

you could put a 120 ax in it its only 3 ounces heavier than a 75 i know some one that has a saito 120 in it, and it rocks and its a heavier engine....i could only imagine what a 120ax could do for it

I was wondering more about the price of the engine vs quality and performace. The other engines compared to an OS are signficanlty cheaper. I would spend the extra on quatlity but if they are all the same I would rather save the money,.

To a degree, you get what you pay for. Having said that the Tower 75 is generally regarded as a good and powerful engine although every once in a while a lemon comes along. The SuperTigre is a good long lasting engine but for those not familiar with tuning them they can be a bit more difficult than some of the others. I have the SuperTigre's and like them and I also have a GMS 40 that is an excellent little engine. The OS is sorta like the high end sports car and costs the most but for some it is worth the extra bucks. They generally are a tad easier to tune but yet some seem to find them just as much trouble so it's really difficult to say without knowing the skill of the user. I've had a saying for as long as I can remember, "I've never met an engine I didn't like" so having said that I might just be too optimistic on some of these engines but what I offered is My Humble Opinion.
