|

Cap 232 3D: A mate has one - rubbish.
Too heavy (as with most ARTFs), dog to build, engine mount snapped, undercarriage ripped out last weekend despite good landing, and a 2stoke doesn't fit with the standard silencer. He gave up with the cowl. Plus performance was marginal with an SC 36, certainly not good for 3D. |

Fun 15, mine's a kick with a 20FP. Taco 25 might be a good choice too (I don't own one so I'm not sure). The Fun 15's available as an ARF from Singapore hobbies I think. Both planes are posted in here somewhere.

There is a 25 size Flip 3D. I have one. Have not finished it, waiting on the motor.
This plane is not imported into the US, however there is 1 still available form the people I got mine from. PM me if you want one. |
.25 sized 3D's?
check out the SPADS. YOU can make a Spa3d a .25 sized airplane by changing its size.
|
.25 sized 3D's?
SPADs don't hover :p
.25 size Flip?!?! ooooooooooooh :D |
.25 sized 3D's?
Spads do hover :) and hover very well. I like to set up a chair in the runway and hover my plane into it.

its finally finished but.......

............after what Sprink said I'm not sure its gonna be good. I agree thats its not easy to assemble and at 4lb dead its not exactly light. However I've strengthened the uc mount inside and even tho the cowl took 2 hours with a rotary tool to do I'm quite please with the result. Power is Leo 37 and its got mini digis on the back end. Will be doing maiden flight at weekend.

Hercmate: put in a west if the Leo isn't powerfull enough. 7.5lbs of static thrust on a 4lb plane. i'll let you decide what that'll be like

I gave the baby cap a try...and it was not very stable. In fact it went straight in from about 50 feet in the tall stuff. I need to put a new firewall and gear on it and try agian. I am worried to break my sweat little saito 40a though. It came in at 3lbs with 4 hitec 225's and a micro on thr. I'll sell it cheap if anyone wants to give it a go. No pics but the airframe is an easy fix, and the cowl is so-so.

A .25 CAP just sounds like a hand full. I hope this report doesnt reflect all of the models at Giant Scale Planes. I have been considering ordering their ARC Edge 540.

.25 sized 3D's?
If its the one im thinking of, its a good plane. i don't know if it'll 3d though.

.25 sized 3D's?
I got a giant scale planes cap .25 and it isn't the best for 3d. It is too heavy and it comes out tail heavy even with a big engine.
The person who owned it before me crashed it once and repaired it and never liked it. I bought it cheap and put an enya 35x heli in it. I added standard servos and mounted them inside the fuse. I did get the CG to be on the spar and it flew a lot tamer. I recently moved it between where I thought the cg should be and their recomended place and it flew good and was tail heavy like I wanted. I liked the plane a lot and had fun with it. |
.25 sized 3D's?
I think the CG per the instructions is to far aft.
|
.25 sized 3D's?
My CG is 75mm from the spar ie front of recommended. I still think its too heavy for its size but hey we'll see on Sunday!

.25 sized 3D's?
4 lbs... ouch !
|
.25 sized 3D's?
4 lbs... ouch ! LS171Malibu Did yours really come out at 3lbs? If so I can't see how you did it? I used the little Leo 37 and minis throughout. Can't see how to get the weight down without taking the dremel to it :devious: |
.25 sized 3D's?
I didn't do anything to it....but now you have me second guessing my memory. There was another thread where I posted the info after I finished it, that will have the most correct info.
