U-Can-Do 3D .46 with OS .46 2-stroke
Hi,
I'm pretty new tonitro planes and I was flying my Zlin Z-50 (on its maiden) and got radio interference on my 2.4(really! how!) and the plane went down hard. It had a OS 46 in it and that plane zipped around at about 70 mph wide open. I bought a U-Can-Do .46 and I have seen most people put a OS 70 4-stroke in it or a 55-65 2 stroke. Would a 2 Stroke OS .46 be ok? I mean for like areobatic moves like snap rolls and loops and rolls etc. Thanks! |
RE: U-Can-Do 3D .46 with OS .46 2-stroke
Yep, may not be enough to hover but it'll do great on the basic stuff as long as it's not the 46LA version.

RE: U-Can-Do 3D .46 with OS .46 2-stroke
I have an older one with a 46 on it and hes right they will hover for a short moment and will not sky rocket out of it . but other then that they do vertical lines fine
short takes off easy landings fun flip floppy stuff all day long remember A u can do is not a pylon racer , wide open dives will bite ya 8 P also they are fun planes nice and big easy to see elvon cupleing works great for some wicked watter falls and such |
RE: U-Can-Do 3D .46 with OS .46 2-stroke
It's a 46 AX Thanks!

Should work great. Watch out for flutter as zachary mentioned above. They don't like too much speed.

Hummm a OS AX 46 . the hp is the same as a LA 65 ,or a 4Stroke 91. I do not think a AX 46 will have the same tork. <div> I know a 4 pitch prop will give you unlimited vertical and save the plane from flying to fast, but you will need a 5 or 6 pitch to do a nicer knife edge.</div><div>
</div><div>Yes ! Do IT! Note : this plane will last longer if 3 D rates are not used .( it will be easier to learn to hover on high/med. rates anyhow.)</div> |

RE: U-Can-Do 3D .46 with OS .46 2-stroke
A .46 will be okay for sport flying but not for serious 3D. I would not even put a .55 in it. I would be thinking OS .75 or Saito .82? I am not a 4 stroker. The wing loading is ridiculus low - the .75 would be fine.
I had an OS-50sx-H heli engine in mine and it really lacked pull out. |
RE: U-Can-Do 3D .46 with OS .46 2-stroke
The build on this is going very fast! The Max of a 2-Stroke is I think .55 or .60. The max for 4-stroke (according to the instructions) is .70.

RE: U-Can-Do 3D .46 with OS .46 2-stroke
So why cant a 46 size , have a 46 engine?
|
RE: U-Can-Do 3D .46 with OS .46 2-stroke
Expansion pack 1 for a Real Flight Sim has the 60 UCD . Try it .

RE: U-Can-Do 3D .46 with OS .46 2-stroke
ORIGINAL: ES CONTROL So why cant a 46 size , have a 46 engine? Yes Ive often wondered about that myself. I have a .46 GP Eagle 580 Matt Chapman and I have a 55AX in it butt havent flown it yet (not enough skills yet) and some say it will not have enough power. No 3d for me just sport flying so I think the 55AX sould do for that. Jimmy |
RE: U-Can-Do 3D .46 with OS .46 2-stroke
The .46 will not be a good choice for hovering. I had an OS .50SX-H (not hyper) and it was lacking. I would consider a Saito .82 or an OS .75. The plane will fly with the .46, but who wants to just sport fly a UCD?
