I have the OS 55 in my Twist & it is ballistic! Others at the club have 82 four strokes & the performance is about the same. Dont know what mine weighs though. The 55 is plenty for it.....Gene

55AX is good but if you want ballistic, the new YS70 would be choice.

i have a os 46 fx with a 12 1/4 x 3 3/4 prop with the tower tobbies muffler. plane has unlimited vertical, very short take offs and add flapperons for very short landing. plane is tons of fun and flys great in the wind also.

OS 55 for me but as we are not recommending engines you asked for I vote for the OS82 Alpha!!! or if you want ballistic power go electric!!!

I'm running my Twist with a Thunder Tiger Pro 46 and a MAC Tuned pipe. I'm a bit old school but it rocks!

RE: hangar 9 twist 40 engine help
I have a twist with an ax55 on it. Mine is modified, but I fly at 4500'. Even a stock 55 is plenty of power for unlimited vertical.
Thumbskull is kind of right, this plane is not the best 3D plane, but it is a great Sunday sport stunt plane. I love mine. |
RE: hangar 9 twist 40 engine help
reinforce the fuselage behind the wing by running balsa triangles in the corners of the fuse, they seem to break apart fairly easily behind the wing. Also the landing gear mounting block tends to rip out easily
