Aeroworks 50cc Ultimate

I have new Aeroworks Ultimate ready to fly. Any advise on the CG location? Aeroworks spec's 1.5" behind the lead edge of the top wing at the wing tip. Please let me know your thoughts.

RE: Aeroworks 50cc Ultimate

My maiden was just a week ago. I have the CG at perhaps 1cm behind the recommended location, and I am flying tail heavy for sure. Inverted required no down elevator, and KE saw the plane tuck to the LG pretty LOTS. The plane also tucked to the LG when rudder was applied in level upright flight. I am moving my batts forward plus mixing in some down elev on one of the toggles if the more forward CG does not help enough. I also noted the plane did not nose over at all, which guys have said the plane tends to do on grass when their CG is per the AW recommendation. So my suggestion is try to hit the recommended CG but don't break a prop either. :) Jon

Thanks for the advise I will set the CG as indicated by your experience.

Don't get me wrong though...the plane as is flies like a puppy, lands like a feather, but just has the coupling as noted in my prior post. It also wants to roll OUT of KE, so I hope the new CG helps, but if not, I am going to mix in more aileron to hold KE. You can always move more rearward if yours behaves differently than mine and if you want to get better 3D performance. I am more a pattern flyer. Good luck on yours! Jon
