Should I put threadlock on propeller nut?
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
It's my first time build the 57" extra 330 SC electric 3D plane. I am using a 16x 8 APC E-prop and hacker A40-12L set up. The motor gives about 1100W max and 7000 rpm with this prop. I am wondering if I should use threadlock on the prop nut. Another thing is what should be the torque on the nut to be sure the prop don't fall off? It's my first time building this size plane and I am a bit nervous. My past experiences are with small scale electric planes. Any info would be greatly appreciated |
RE: Should I put threadlock on propeller nut?
Not necessary. I don't even use it on my ic engined planes. Just tighten the nut correctly and you won't have problems.
Don't trouble trouble till trouble troubles you.... Cheers Bundu |

Don't do it. When you break that prop or want to try a different one, you won't be able to get it off.
There is no way to hold the shaft from spinning while you are trying to loosen the nut. |
