Thinking of winter project!!
I have been interested in getting a gasoline powered plane for awhile now and I think I have found the one that I am going to get. I just thought I might see what you guys think and if you have had any experience with this plane. It is the Aeroworks Ultimate 20-300 100cc. I thinking about the DLE 111 engine, Hitec 7955TG servos, and a Futaba 10G radio, which I already have. along with the Aeroworks power systems for both the reciever and ignition.
This will be my first gasoline plane. thanks. |
RE: Thinking of winter project!!
That would be an awesome plane. The only thing I would maybe look at is a single wing plane. My flying time is limited. The extra time it takes to assemble and disassemble the bipe would cost me a flight or two every trip to the field. If time is on your side, GO FOR IT!:D

RE: Thinking of winter project!!
I have been doing a little searching online and have another question for the experienced pilots out there. Do I need to go the lipo with regulator setup of can i just use two LiFe batteries to save weight? Do the LiFe batteries deliver enough amps to power a plane this large. Can I also use a LiFe on the Ignition as well? Thanks much.

RE: Thinking of winter project!!
you can use ether power systems even nimh if you wish . its really how much current is your RX rated for for example you'll have 8x 79 seris servos if the top of your RX was at 10 amp you should think about a smart fly or power box
also think about charging and how you want to do decide if you want to buy pack's with internal balancer like duralite or Formeco .. think about changer " fromeco cube " all these are factor's in choosing your gear just a FYI most people fly Lion not Lipo it's less acceptable to vibration from what i hear ... just another FYI make sure to surf on the forum's and read up , i do remember a wing failure post of one of there bipe's I'm not really sure what all the detail's are i just remember he was not happy .. and there was little support also I hate how aeroworks use those C-pin's on the anti rotation pin's " not sure if this apples to the bipe " but i had a extra and couldn't stand that ... also i wasn't happy that the i had to buy all the extra carbon fiber bling ... |

zacharyR
I am running a Futaba R6014HS 14-Channel 2.4GHz FASST Receiver. I looked it up on futabas website and I dont see the current rating listed. Just the input voltage. Is there and advantage over one of those two power systems? |

ORIGINAL: Mudball3 zacharyR I am running a Futaba R6014HS 14-Channel 2.4GHz FASST Receiver. I looked it up on futabas website and I dont see the current rating listed. Just the input voltage. Is there and advantage over one of those two power systems? well not relaly a advantage simple'st set up with be, Duralite A123's set up , second would be Lion's you'd need to have two regulator's on that set up .. 3rd would be a smart fly ,, you would use Lion's with the smart fly not sure on your inginition . but some name brand's do not like over 6 volt's so you have to use a regulaor or a IBEC on A123'S / LiFe 's it's a personal choice and a budget choice . if it was my airplane I'd run the A123's with internail balancer's and call it a day ... and that's a newerr RX it can handle the power ..... |
RE: Thinking of winter project!!
The wing failure was on a 50cc bipe and not typical of AW products.
