Radio Knobs
 

I have a Futaba 10 channel i just purchased, and I find that the stick are a little rough on the fingers while flying. Someone told me that you can purchase different knobs maybe even some with rubber on the top of them; does anyone know of this to be true. Any information where you can buy them or tell me that you cannot purchase them would be greatly appreciated.

They are available. I have a set for JR i found on Ebay, they do not have rubber on them but they are easy on the thumbs. These are blue anodized so they look good too.

Actually, I go the other way == the more "painful" the better.

These tungston carbide points don't wear as easily as aluminum :

Once 3D entered the picture, I got callouses on my thumbs and my sticks kept wearing out every 6 months. Not anymore.

Hi,

I use large fuel tubing. I slide the tubing over forcepts or small needle nose pliers and then spread the jaws over the stick ends and slide the tubing off. See picture below. This is NOT easy.

Appreciate all of the help everyone I believe I might try the fuel tubbing , and see how it works for me. Sounds like a great idea my uncle had used the file technique , and it worked well for him. With me though I think the fuel tubbing over them would work great as im working the sticks to my beast 42% Edge while hovering LOVEIT!!!!!!!!!!

Hi 3D-4-ME,

The fuel tubing will be difficult to get on, but once you get the technique, it is not too bad. Remember to use the large fuel tubing from the 90 engines and above, and also to cut the fuel tubing with a good sharp knife, any nicks will cause it to split.

You will find the fuel tubing can be moved on the stick ends to give more, or less, "sharpness" from the points. It also works well to give good grip for for "thumbs" or "pinch" stick control. I think you'll like it.

My 10C was an early version, and didn't have the sharper ends. I wanted them, and just bought some from Aztech Aeromodel. The new ones are VERY sharp. Might try the fuel tubing idea too; another thought that came to mind was the "plasti-dip" you can buy for tool handles (i.e. pliers, screwdrivers, etc); I got some from Micro Mark.
