Setting CG without having plans or specs ???
I have one of these...
http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/...d/108_6286.jpg (have no idea what it is!) 48" span job with a little ASP .46 now on the nose. Would would be a good rule of thumb to get the CG set to? I seem to remember 33% of the chord back from the leading edge was a good rule of thumb for sport type planes. Would this work on a stunt / 3D type? Also, set the CG with the tank full, half or empty? What do you guys think? |

RE: Setting CG without having plans or specs ???
Start at 33% of the wing chord measured at the root.

RE: Setting CG without having plans or specs ???
+1 for 33% to start. Adjust to your liking from there.

RE: Setting CG without having plans or specs ???
Thank you everyone. I was inclined to use the 33% as a starting point and I thank you for confirming. I appreciate it.

RE: Setting CG without having plans or specs ???
33% is a good starting point for 3D on any non-swept symmetrical wing.
