how do you guys do taht like how do they just stay there in that one spot straight up i dont get it lol it looks really hard...

Sprink 10-19-2003 03:37 PM

RE: Lets see um!!

You need lots of power so that I can go straight up.

You need powerful rudder and elevators with lots of throw so that you can hold it straight.

Oh and you need lots of practise.

If you got the right plane and lots of time on the stick then its not hard at all. Of course I say that and there is probobly some poor guy out there that is reading this that has been trying for years and still cant get it down.

Adrian, what engine are you flying on your UCANDO? I have one and a Saito 91 laying around and was wondering if that would work :)

CAPT KC those are some fine birds you have there as well

Pic #1 is my old UCD with a Saito 91. DiabloKid - the engine is a nice match for the plane, though not extrememly overpowered. This is the plane I used to build up my hovering courage. It is now owned by someone else who is learning how to hover low.

Pics #2 and #3 are my new Composite ARF Extra 2.6M with a DA-100.

Pic #4 is my Midwest Extra with a Brison 3.2.

For vids of my planes, go to my website! I am looking forward to flying the Composite ARF more and getting some new videos up. When the new IMAC sequences are posted I'll be sure to get some IMAC vids in.

Thanks Diablo! They are a hoot. I have a Saito 91 on front of the UCan with a 15x4w apc prop. As for the cap, its a OS 50sx pushing a mas 11x6 prop. The ucan will knife edge with little effert on the sticks and will climb up and and travel like clock hands if you stay in it. The cap will knife but no up pull, will just go sideways. I really enjoy both of these planes. I put the cap through its maiden flight today. Did a splendid job!

our ucan now runs with the 91fx - not a single problem - seems we are lucky - but my dad is an old engine guru so we drilled the clank and put big fuel tubing and she runs sweet al day long.

The UCD is not mine but the Laser3D is. I crashed the Laser3D later that flight when the engine quit on me in hover around 5-6' off the deck.
